Mayor Pete mocked for touting US transportation as boozy Slip ‘N Slide twerk party rages on NYC subway

The New York City subway system is fraught with violent crime, vagrancy, fare jumpers, and rodents, among its various attributes.

As if that wasn’t enough, however, a flash Slip ‘N slide twerking party on a train car is now part of the travel experience for commuters, audience participation apparently included.

The New York Post described the impromptu social gathering, with adult beverages, which was initially shared by Twitter user @_mikefromqueens, as “off the rails.” As you would expect, quite a few passengers also brought out their smartphones to record the proceedings.

“Straphangers struggled to hold onto their morals as a collection of voluptuous vixens dressed in skimpy black bikinis jumped, gyrated and jiggled during a makeshift pool party hosted inside an L train car,” the Post described the happening in vivid terms.

The news outlet also mentioned that some critics called out the lack of hygiene in the festivities.

Fox News host Tucker Carlson even mentioned this incident on Tuesday evening to highlight the absurdity of former Mayor Pete Buttigieg, the Biden administration’s transportation secretary and would-be 2024 presidential candidate, tutoring other countries about best practices in the increasingly decrepit U.S. transportation sector.

“Now that sounds like a promise, but actually it’s a threat,” Carlson quipped in the video clip embedded above.

Watch the footage of “the most chaotic train ride ever” that reportedly took place on a route that primarily serves Manhattan and Brooklyn (*Warning for language):

It may turn out, however, that underground debauchery was not necessarily spontaneous. “It’s unclear why the party took place or whether it was promotional in nature, but at one point a man holds a sign reading ‘viral exposure’ among the dancing girls,” the Daily Mail asserted.

Along those lines perhaps, an official with NYC’s Metropolitan Transit Authority said that “This appears to be a Hollywood concoction or a dopey stunt. New Yorkers don’t appreciate rides being delayed when trains get taken out of service because selfish grownups came to trend.”

Traveling by public transportation, particularly, in America’s big cities is less and less a pleasant, family-friendly experience.

As a footnote, alcohol consumption is illegal in the NYC subway system.

After taking office in January, NYC Mayor Eric Adams admitted that he felt unsafe while riding the subway even though he is accompanied 24/7 by armed police bodyguards.

Although this particular encounter may be considered by some as more decadent fun and games, Democrat Adams was elected, in large part, on a law-and-order message.

So far, the social fabric of his city — above and below ground — continues to sadly and seriously deteriorate.
