Hunter Biden seen as the victim by Delaware police in discarded gun incident: report

Delaware State Police treated Hunter Biden as the victim in the strange incident in October 2018 in which Hallie Biden tossed his handgun into a grocery store garbage can.

Even so, Hunter refused to press charges against his sister-in-law, with whom he was in a somewhat stormy relationship at the time. A source familiar with the investigation of the incident spoke with The Washington Examiner about how Biden was viewed by police, with the newspaper publishing text message snippets between Biden and Hallie that concern the incident.

“He was technically a victim of a theft of a firearm,” the source told the Examiner. “But in Delaware, we don’t prosecute unless a victim is willing to pursue prosecution, so that incident was cleared out with no victim cooperation. Which means the victim does not want prosecution.”

Hallie was apparently afraid for Hunter Biden’s life, so she removed the handgun from his car on October 23, 2018, placed it in a shopping bag, and discarded it in a trash can at a Janssen’s Market grocery store. And although Hunter declined to press charges against his sister-in-law, that didn’t mean there wasn’t a ferocious back-and-forth between the two by text message.

The messages — obtained from the so-called “laptop from hell” that numerous outlets denounced as “Russian disinformation,” before admitting it was legit — show that Hallie’s decision to toss Hunter’s gun didn’t go over well with the president’s son.

“I need you to stop doing everything you possibly can do to make a life here an unbearable proposition,” Hunter lamented in the text messages. “People make mistakes out of love. People have things in the immediate past of a relationship that are inexplicable but harmless…so what’s my fault here Hallie that you speak of. Owning a gun that’s in a locked car hidden on another property?”

“Do you want me dead,” Hunter asked.

“I’m sorry, I just want you safe,” Hallie replied. “That was not safe. And it was open unlocked and windows down and the kids search your car. And I’m scared you would use it.”

Needless to say, Hallie’s reasoning was not well-received by Hunter.

“The police and fbi [sic] still want to talk about whether I’m threatening you,” he texted her. “I now threatened you and your family with a gun…You have truly f***ed me over.”

“They think you’re scared I would shoot you,” he added. “You f***ing a**hole. You now have me as an abusive pedophile with homicidal tendencies. And that’s now in the hands of the FBI. I hate what you’ve done to me. I won’t ever recover from all of this. I’m too tired. This is the way you love me.”

Although Hunter refused to press charges in this incident, he now faces a slew of legal troubles of his own. For one thing, federal prosecutors are considering whether to charge him with lying on the form he filled out to obtain the very same gun that Hallie Biden threw out. He answered “no” to the question of whether he was addicted to drugs—which, as anyone even remotely familiar with the Hunter Biden saga can attest, is a patent falsehood.

And as Fox News has recently reported, there’s reason to suspect that he might also be soon indicted for tax and foreign lobbying violations.
