If the members of the Jan. 6 committee had any modicum of self-awareness, they’d probably advise their colleague Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) to stop adding his lack of credibility to their already sensationalized show trial.
Unbridled as he is, the chair of the House Intelligence Committee struck again Thursday with a tweet worthy of the wall of shame.
As Thursday’s primetime edition of the Jan. 6 spectacle was wrapping up, Schiff took to social media to paint former President Donald Trump as the villain in a never-ending crusade against the bad orange man. Reminiscent of a young Fred Jones in the cartoon “A Pup Named Scooby-Doo” the amateur sleuth, with the full investigative powers of the federal government at his disposal, can see no other culprit but the neighborhood bully, Red Herring, embodied by the former president.
“Donald Trump’s incitement of the mob and refusal to stop the violence will be remembered as the worst dereliction of duty by a president of the United States in modern history,” Schiff posted to Twitter with the absolute certainty of a true zealot.

The trouble is, he’s danced this number before and fellow social media users were quick to call him out for leveling unsubstantiated claims.
Adam, I’m old enough to remember Trump requesting extra security and telling everyone to leave peacefully.
I also remember the Capitol Police officer saying the Pelosi timeliness was wrong. And now he is dead.

Can we see the evidence this time? https://t.co/I1pxTOpPZT

After all, Schiff was one of the main peddlers of the Russian collusion hoax while Trump was still in office and continued to promote the existence of a salacious video of the president with prostitutes that became known colloquially as the “pee tape.”
Release the pee tape!

That damning “evidence” was never revealed to the public and even MSNBC’s Ari Melber was left fact-checking that reality: “For all the talk about this alleged tape, virtually no evidence came forward in public to corroborate it. It sounded like gossip drawn from this unverified dossier, which wasn’t drafted for public consumption – let alone fact-checked.”
“The [discredited Christopher Steele] dossier claimed the Russians had a file on Trump’s alleged sexual activities that occurred in Russia, and this alleged tape of him with alleged prostitutes at a presidential suite at the Ritz Carlton hotel in Moscow,” Melber went on.
But, perhaps Tucker Carlson had put it better almost an entire year earlier when he said, “So the pee tape is not real. There goes the juiciest part of the ‘Trump dossier’…Oh wait, so there is no collusion either. There is no Russian blackmail. There is no obstruction of justice. None of the things that our entire media class has spent the last two years huffing and speculating about [are true].”
Those are all allegations that have been leveled by the likes of Schiff that have time and again resulted in being proven false like so many other nutty conspiracy theories from “BlueAnon” types.

But, that seems to be the M.O. of Democrats too often sheltered by their corporate media allies. So, until the latest narrative runs dry, it remains up to others to call out Schiff and his ilk for their ongoing shenanigans.
You are not a serious person.

Really? Does that mean nothing can be worse? How about the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression? How about the worst energy crisis in American history? How about the worst military in American history? Even the military is suffering from your current president.

They have absolutely nothing. This tweet costed the tax payers billions. They paid for the Jan 6 Committee and snap backs on Twitter is literally all that came out of it.
What a clown show. https://t.co/GeAtlikWfe
