There are some things that are so straightforward that it becomes easy to take for granted their simplicity, that is until entire movements are built around a premise that belies basic truths like actions have consequences. Matt Walsh addressed just that Tuesday with a message directly aimed at pro-abortion activists that noted, “I gotta dumb it down as much as possible.”
During Tuesday’s edition of The Daily Wire’s “The Matt Walsh Show,” the host made it known to those who felt threatened by the possibility that abortion may no longer be an option that there still was and always has been a surefire way to prevent unwanted pregnancy and that is self-control.
“If conceiving a child would be disastrous for you, you believe, then do not participate in activities that literally billions of times in the past have resulted in the conception of a child,” Walsh stated matter of factly. That may seem clear enough, but based on the volume of impassioned protests that have taken place across the nation since the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization decision became known, some people need their hands held more than others.
“I’ll phrase it this way. Cause I really wanna make it very simple for these people,” he went on. “They have difficulty understanding complex concepts, so I gotta dumb it down as much as possible. If reproduction would be a disaster for you, you believe, then do not participate in the reproductive act.”
Initial reaction to Walsh’s basic premise demonstrated a failure to grasp the concept that the vast majority of sexual relations were consensual and that opposition to abortion does not mean favorability toward rape.
Warning: Language
women should “exercise some self-control”

Does he genuinely think a 10 year old girl can consent to sexual relations? If so, what the actual fuck?!?

Knowing it wouldn’t be that easy to get his point across, Walsh carried on trying to hammer home the basic principle that a consequence can and should be weighed before a decision is made.
“Because if you are able to…reproduce, no matter what else you do, you can make it the ‘safest kind of sex you want.’ There’s always still gonna be a chance that you reproduce,” he explained. “And if that chance would be like plunging off of a cliff level of catastrophe in your life, then don’t participate in the act, control yourself, right? We’re human beings. We should be able to exercise some self-control, right? We’re not beasts in the jungle that are unable to control our compulsions. At least we shouldn’t be.”
This message was clearly one that would apply to men and women alike as, despite the woke gender theory acolytes’ twisted perceptions, it still takes one of each to reproduce. But that didn’t stop the leftist Twitter mob from treating this as an assault on women that let men off the hook for their decisions.
Did men stop having sex purely for pleasure at some point? Did I miss that?
Are men who aren’t interested in fathering children going to stop having sex purely for pleasure?
Do men want to test whether *women* will be willing to stop having sex if not interested in children?

What does he tell men?

It’s always been about controlling women.

@MattWalshBlog Is this you? What a complete and utter asshole you are. All this is is a bunch of slut shaming and denigrating women. Men and women like you who make this argument have a deep-seated problem with women. It’s obvious to the rest of us. Your neuroses are on display.

“One of the defining features of human beings, one of the things that’s supposed to set us apart from beasts is that we are able to have a compulsion to do something, we want to do something, and yet we choose not to do it,” Walsh concluded on the subject, and really landed on the point that today’s impulse-driven society is attempting to perpetuate — which is that they do not wish to have self-control and so that separation from an innate characteristic of humanity makes their dismissal of the moral stakes surrounding abortion make a little more sense to them.
