NBA superstar LeBron James popped off again with remarks smearing Boston sports fans as racists for heckling him during games against the hometown Celtics, a hypocritical riff on a city where he happens to be a part-owner of a certain professional baseball team.
The Los Angeles Lakers forward who despite his lack of a college education presents himself as a self-styled racial philosopher made his remarks during the latest edition of his HBO talk show “The Shop” when asked about which city that he hates playing in.
After James replied that it was Boston, he was asked by the show’s co-creator Paul Rivera to elaborate, “Why do you hate Boston?”
LeBron then slammed Beantown in his profanity-saturated response, “Because they racist as f**k, that’s why.”

“They will say anything, and it’s fine. I mean, f**k, it’s my wife, she’s been dealing with them her whole life. I don’t mind it. I hear it, like if I hear someone close by, I check them real quick. I move onto the game, whatever the f**k,” he said.
“They going to say whatever the f**k they want to say, they might throw something, I got a beer thrown on me leaving the game,” James added, not providing any specific details on what exactly Boston fans did that was racist.
“It’s the only place in the NBA in America you go and they have shirts that say like “f**k LeBron,” James’ business partner Maverick Carter chimed in.
There was like a f**k LBJ t-shirt,” James said. “I believe they sold it at the f**king team shop.”
What wasn’t brought up during the conversation was that last year, James became a part owner of the Boston Red Sox, one of Major League Baseball’s flagship franchises.
According to a March 2021 announcement from Fenway Sports Group which owns the Red Sox, “We are also pleased to welcome to our ownership group LeBron, Maverick and Paul, with whom we have enjoyed a successful collaboration for well over a decade. Their addition is an important milestone for FSG and expands and deepens a longtime friendship and relationship that began in 2010.”
Twitter users reacted, dunking on the hypocritical King James.

It’s funny because he’s a minority owner of the Red Sox 😂😂😂

I didn’t know saying “Fuck Lebron” or “Fuck Kyrie” = Racism. That’s hostility. Not racism. Boston is the most hostile environment in the NBA. No doubt. We have a rude, mean fan base. It’s not any more or less racist than the rest of America though.

Lebron James says Boston is racist as fuck but didn’t care about any of that when he decided he wanted checks from Fenway Sports Group, fucking clown. Moron with a 7th grade education 🤡🤡

While it has been well documented that former Celtics great Bill Russell was subjected to racist taunts from fans, it was a different era and LeBron’s remarks are inconsistent with his past comments when he said that he has never heard anything racist directed at him during games in Boston.

King James just can’t help himself when it comes to saying really dumb things like he did when he popped off about black lesbian basketball star Brittney Griner who is currently in a Russian jail after she was busted carrying pot into the country in violation if its rigid drug laws.
“How can she feel like America has her back? I would be feeling like, ‘Do I even want to go back to America?’” James said in a promo for a recent edition of his HBO show.
After criticism, he was forced to walk it back, tweeting that he wasn’t trashing America.
My comments on “The Shop” regarding Brittney Griner wasn’t knocking our beautiful country. I was simply saying how she’s probably feeling emotionally along with so many other emotions, thoughts, etc inside that cage she’s been in for over 100+ days! Long story short #BringHerHome

Will he similarly walk back his insult of Boston sports fans?
