The Las Vegas police union is demanding that woke, BLM Judge Erika Ballou resign after telling a suspect in court that she didn’t know if she would ‘walk away alive’ from cops.

What makes her comments even worse is that she said this to a man who had been arrested for committing battery against an officer in Nevada while on probation.

A video of the exchange between the defendant and Ballou was first aired by the Nevada Globe.

Footage shows Judge Ballou, saying, “You’re the one making the decisions not to walk away from cops. You’re a black man in America.”

“You know you don’t want to be nowhere where cops are. Listen to me,” she brazenly told the man.

“You know you don’t want to be nowhere where cops are cause I know I don’t, and I’m a middle-aged, middle-class black woman,” the judge added.

“I don’t want to be around where the cops are because I don’t know if I’m going to walk away alive or not. You know that,” Ballou explosively claimed.

“Even if the cop like came after and was harassing your group, you should have walked away instead of staying,” she lectured the man in court.

“You needed to walk away because you knew you were on probation, you knew,” Ballou charged.

This is the same woman who was instructed by Clark County District Court Judge Douglas Herndon in 2016, while she was still a public defender, that she had to remove a Black Lives Matter pin in court.

The current exchange occurred on July 11 as the Clark County District attorney’s office was seeking the revocation of the probation of the unnamed man.

The judge went on to rule that the defendant was in violation of his probation and she revoked it, according to the Daily Mail.

After revoking the man’s probation, she then added insult to injury by reducing his sentence from the original one of 24 to 60 months to 19 to 48 months.

The Las Vegas Police Protective Association immediately called for her resignation over the biased comments.

“On behalf of the men and women of law enforcement, the Las Vegas Police Protective Association takes exception to Judge Erika Ballou’s disparaging comments about police officers,” a spokesman for the union stated.

“We call upon Judge Ballou to resign from the bench. We also ask the Judicial Ethics Commission to sanction her for violating the Nevada Code of Judicial Conduct,” he continued.

“Among other obligations, the rules require the judiciary to, ‘[A]spire at all times to conduct that ensures the greatest possible public confidence in their independence, impartiality, integrity, and competence,'” the spokesman remarked. “Judge Ballou has demonstrated that she is biased against law enforcement and cannot live up to the standards required of a jurist.”

“Judge Ballou’s comments, from the bench, that she, ‘does not want to be around where cops are because I don’t know whether I am going to walk away alive or not…’ are both unethical and irresponsible,” he contended. “Police officers and the law-abiding citizens of our community deserve better from the judiciary.”

Gubernatorial candidate Joe Lombardo (R-NV) also called for her immediate resignation.

“Today, I’m calling upon Clark County District Court Judge Erika Ballou to resign, and I’m also calling upon Governor Sisolak to demand Judge Ballou’s resignation,” he tweeted.

Nevada Senate candidate Adam Paul Laxalt tweeted, “Listen to the vicious and false anti-cop language out of Clark County District Judge Erika Ballou, a proud DSA member and Black Lives Matter activist. Another example of far left ideology making its way to the bench on full display.”

Ballou is a member of the Democratic Socialists of America and was elected to the bench in November 2020. She previously served as a Deputy Public Defender for Clark County Public Defenders office for 15 years.

In a prior statement, the judge notably said, “In a free country, I shouldn’t be afraid of the police, but I am.”
