Mom of 10-year-old rape victim defends illegal alien rapist: ‘Everything they say about him is a lie’

The mother of the 10-year-old girl who was raped in Ohio by an illegal immigrant is now saying her daughter is “fine” and is shockingly defending the rapist, asserting that “everything they’re saying against him is a lie.”

This comes after Gerson Fuentes admitted to raping the child at least twice, impregnating her. The young girl then traveled to Indiana for an abortion given by an activist doctor.

The mother told a Telemundo reporter named María Vargas-Pion, who visited the Columbus residence, that the girl was her daughter and would not identify herself. She hid behind her front door while defending her daughter’s rapist.

“Did the girl live here as well?” Vargas-Pion asked the mother.

“Yes, but she’s fine. Everything that they’re saying against him is a lie,” she replied in Spanish.

“And the child – are you related to her or her mother?” the reporter asked.

“She’s my daughter,” the mother responded.

The mother told the reporter that she had not filed charges against Fuentes even after he confessed to having “vaginal contact” with the child. Her daughter has identified Fuentes as her rapist.

DNA is being checked against that of Fuentes and the child’s siblings to verify who the father is, according to The Columbus Dispatch.

The girl just celebrated her tenth birthday so she was nine years old when she was assaulted, a very young age for a child to be impregnated.

Police reportedly became aware of the child’s pregnancy via a referral from the Franklin County Children Services that had been made by her mother on June 22. The girl underwent an abortion in Indianapolis on June 30. She was reportedly six weeks and three days pregnant.

The Indianapolis Star was the first to report on July 1st that the child had traveled across state lines for an abortion.

Even more disturbing is that an Indiana Department of Health filing that was obtained by Fox News on Thursday, revealed that Indianapolis physician Dr. Caitlin Bernard reported the girl’s alleged rapist was approximately 17 years old. He’s 27 years old and is a resident of Guatemala.

The child identified Fuentes as her attacker on July 6. A week later, he was served a search warrant compelling him to provide a saliva sample and then was arrested. At that point, he confessed to raping the girl multiple times.

Fuentes was arraigned on Wednesday. He is facing a felony charge of first-degree rape of a child under 13 and bail is set at $2 million.

Attorney General Dave Yost has been all over the story since it first broke. During a Fox News interview on Monday, he claimed that there’s no “biological evidence” to the story and he hasn’t heard a “whisper anywhere” about the little girl. According to court records, a report was filed on June 22 with the Columbus Division of Police concerning the girl’s rape.

“My office runs the state crime lab. Any case like this, you’re going to have a rape kit, you’re going to have biological evidence, and you’d be looking for DNA analysis,” he stated. “There is no case request for analysis that looks anything like this.”

Yost also asserted that “Ohio’s heartbeat law has a medical exception, which is broader than just the life of the mother.”

“This young girl, if she exists and if this horrible thing actually happened to her – it breaks my heart to think about it – she did not have to leave Ohio to find treatment,” he proclaimed.

Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita is vowing to investigate Dr. Bernard in connection with the abortion. At issue is whether she complied with Indiana’s law requiring that all abortions be reported to authorities.

Rokita called Bernard an “abortion activist acting as a doctor” whom he claims has a history of failing to report abortions.

“We’re gathering the evidence as we speak, and we’re going to fight this to the end, including looking at her licensure if she failed to report. And in Indiana it’s a crime … to intentionally not report,” he contended Wednesday on Fox News.

“This is a child, and there’s a strong public interest in understanding if someone under the age of 16 or under the age of 18 or really any woman is having abortion in our state. And then if a child is being sexually abused, of course parents need to know. Authorities need to know. Public policy experts need to know,” Rokita added.

“My heart breaks for all survivors of sexual assault and abuse. I am so sad that our country is failing them when they need us most. Doctors must be able to give people the medical care they need, when and where they need it,” Bernard stated on Wednesday, according to the Daily Mail.
