Biden admin uses 40k in taxpayer money to study why kids favor ‘whiteness’ and ‘maleness’

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) under President Joe Biden is funneling about $40,000 of taxpayer money to New York University to study why children supposedly favor “whiteness” and “maleness” over other identities.

Part of the reasoning, if it can be described in that manner, underlying the government grant, according to the jargon-heavy summary on USASpending.gov, is that white males are purportedly overrepresented in various domains, especially healthcare.

Kids purportedly come to believe that white dudes “represent the default person,” which is “a pattern rooted in the ideologies of androcentrism (centering the experiences of men) and ethnocentrism (centering the experiences of White people) prevalent in the United States,” the summary’s premise claimed.

With $40,391 of National Institutes of Health (an HHS agency) cash and three years’ worth of study, NYU researchers seek to figure out the “developmental trajectory by which children’s default representations of people begin to favor whiteness and maleness over other identities.”

The end game also involves coming up with “the sociocultural and ecological factors that can prevent the development of” the alleged pro-white male beliefs.

Common sense (which seldom plays a role in government appropriations) suggests that HHS should be focusing on other areas that actually pertain to health of the U.S. population rather than identity politics. Fortunately, 40 grand is just a drop in the bucket compared to the usual profligate spending by bureaucrats on wheel-spinning projects.

Earlier this year, HHS was accused of passing out crack pipes in the name of racial equity. It is also reportedly looking into using taxpayer money to transport women seeking abortions to states where the procedure will be legal,

The NYU study is set to culminate on January 31, 2025, presumably followed by a written report which will likely contain lofty recommendations couched in diversity advocacy or perhaps calls or additional, similar studies conducted in academia.

In a statement to Fox News, NIH explained, in part, that the umbrella program in which NYU is participating, “enables promising predoctoral students to obtain mentored research training while conducting dissertation research…The research will test whether [the alleged white male preference] is established early in development, or if children’s representations of a typical person may first reflect their own-gender biases (i.e., with girls favoring females and boys favoring males) and then may shift in middle-childhood.”

As these things tend to go in general, undergraduates will also likely be involved in doing some of the legwork for course credit.

With its main campus located in lower Manhattan, estimated NYU undergraduate tuition, plus room and board, and ancillary costs totals approximately $80,000 per year.

In the meantime, NYU — like many so-called institutions of higher learning dominated by the left — to some degree appears to be harboring anti-Semitism masquerading as anti-Israel activism.

Separately, in early 2022, the medical ethics director at the NYU School of Medicine expressed support for shaming individuals who declined the COVID jab as well making life difficult for them.
