The U.S. Oil & Gas Association trolled President Joe Biden, advising him an Econ 101 course may be in order after he tweeted on Saturday that “companies running gas stations” should simply “bring down the price you are charging at the pump.”
The president tweeted that “companies running gas stations” should be cognizant of the fact that “this is a time of war and global peril.”
“Bring down the price you are charging at the pump to reflect the cost you’re paying for the product. And do it now,” Biden tweeted on Saturday.
“Working on it Mr. President. In the meantime – have a Happy 4th and please make sure the WH intern who posted this tweet registers for Econ 101 for the fall semester…,” the energy producers snarked.

Currently, gas prices are averaging $4.812 nationwide. That’s up 5 cents from one month ago. It is not uncommon to see gas prices of over $6 a gallon, especially out west. In California, the average price per gallon of gas is $6.244.
Biden has blamed everyone but himself for the high gas prices despite vowing to take responsibility for such issues when he was elected. Russia and energy companies are his favored targets. He has attempted to hang the blame on Russian President Vladimir Putin, calling it “Putin’s Price Hike.” That has become a talking point for the White House and the left.
Here’s my promise to you: If I’m elected president, I will always choose to unite rather than divide.
I’ll take responsibility instead of blaming others.
I’ll never forget that the job isn’t about me — it’s about you.

The blame game is ratcheting up after Biden pushed a failed proposal to implement a 90-day gas tax holiday. Even Democrats thought that was a dumb idea. It would further hurt the economy and do almost nothing to help Americans at the pump.
The president has been good to his word in strangling energy producers in America in pursuit of his green agenda. He was more than willing to scuttle energy independence, jobs, and low prices, all in the name of climate change.
What is the point of this — both the Biden tweet and hers? Do they think "We yelled at gas stations to lower prices and they were meanies and refused to do it" is going to convince anyone? It just comes across as desperate. pic.twitter.com/WjNKM4B5vx

“Three consecutive American presidents have enjoyed stints of explosive economic growth due to a boom in oil and natural gas production. As president, would you be willing to sacrifice some of that growth, even knowing potentially that it could displace thousands, maybe hundreds of thousands of blue-collar workers in the interest of transitioning to that greener economy?” Tim Alberta, a moderator at the 2019 Democratic debate, asked Biden.
“The answer is yes,” Biden answered.
Since then, he has canceled the Keystone XL pipeline, nixing approximately 870,000 barrels of oil per day from Canada to Texas refineries. He has paused oil and gas leases on federal lands. Instead of utilizing our own oil, coal, gas, nuclear, and hydroelectric energy sources, Biden has repeatedly crawled to Saudi Arabia for oil only to be rebuffed each time.
The Biden Administration just canceled oil and gas leases in Utah.
Joe Biden is trying to make $5 gas permanent.

He has the nerve to call high gas prices that many families can no longer tolerate an “incredible transition” to a “green” economy, while Americans are now being forced to choose between putting food on the table and a roof over their heads versus paying bills.
With the cost of gas skyrocketing, something has to give and hard choices are being made while the president heartlessly doubles and triples down on his doomed climate agenda.
Joe Biden “when it comes to the gas prices, we are going through that “Incredible Transition” taking place…”

All the while, Biden blames Putin, energy producers, and gas station owners for something that he ostensibly owns and is responsible for. The margins at gas stations are minimal and they not only have to pay for their facility, but for their employees, and a myriad of other costs endured to stay in business. It’s not rocket science and is something that Biden surely knows but is exploiting to give himself cover nonetheless.
On Sunday, the National Security Council’s John Kirby defended Biden’s weekend tweet urging gas companies to lower their prices in an effort to deflect from the mess he’s made.

“I think anybody that knows President Biden knows he’s plain-spoken and he tells exactly what he’s thinking in terms that everybody can understand,” Kirby said on “Fox News Sunday.”
“The American people are facing pain at the pump, clearly now, we are at $5 a gallon. The president is working very, very hard across many fronts, Mike, to try to bring that price down,” Kirby asserted.
“If everybody cooperates on this, we can bring the price down at least by about a dollar a gallon,” he unrealistically and disingenuously claimed, “so he’s working very, very hard to do this because he knows the impact that high gas prices have on the American household.”
