‘The View’ reportedly to announce new permanent conservative co-host; Ann Coulter speaks up

Anticipation is building that “The View” will soon announce its permanent conservative replacement for departed co-host Meghan McCain who left the show last year, giving way to a rotating slate of fill-ins who were served up to be torn to shreds by vicious harpies Joy Behar, Whoopi Goldberg and Sunny Hostin.

The popular ABC daytime gabfest which just celebrated its 25th anniversary with a special set of shows from a swanky resort in the Bahamas where the wealthy regulars lived it up in a $14K per night villa, will reportedly be making the big announcement before the season wraps up in early August.

“You are starting to see familiar faces over and over,” an anonymous source told the New York Post. “I would expect an announcement before the season ends on August 5.”

“If you watch the show, you can see people who are coming back regularly to join the co-hosts at the table. It is an invaluable experience for the show. And it was always the plan to make sure they had a seat at the table,” the source added.

Among the candidates for a seat at the table are Alyssa Farrah Griffin who served as the White House director of strategic communications under former President Donald J. Trump and former GOP communications director Tara Setmayer, both of whom are reportedly under consideration “with some sources hinting that Farrah is likely to be the frontrunner,” the Post reported.

Griffin has been a frequent guest since McCain ended her four-season run on the show where despite her animosity for Trump, was smacked around like a piñata by her fellow hosts who revel in tormenting conservatives in the hostile work environment.

“A rep for ABC has not responded to The Post’s request for comment,” the outlet reported.

One thing is certain and that McCain’s replacement won’t be someone who can fight back like conservative author and pundit Ann Coulter who had told the NY Post that she would be up to the job if it was offered to her.

“Yes, of course I would [take the job] but they will never pick me,” Coulter said. “[It seems] they don’t mean what they say. You might be exposing a double-secret requirement: Must be a dumb, easy-to-push-around Republican.”

Even without McCain’s presence, the season hasn’t been devoid of drama including Behar missing her seat and going down hard in front of the live audience, fortunately she was not injured and laughed it off.

Then there was Goldberg’s suspension after she minimized The Holocaust with an ignorant riff on race that bombed bigly forcing her to issue an apology for her disrespectful remarks.

If Griffin gets the nod she will at least be battle-tested, having gone toe-to-toe with the emotional Whoopi who melted down during a segment about the war in Ukraine earlier this year.

Coming off of their partying at the luxurious Baha Mar resort in Nassau, the regulars will take a break for the 4th of July holiday and return to finish the rest of the season on July 11 with the debut of the 26th season airing after Labor Day.
