The message from Democrats after a month of celebrating “pride” is that it’s time to feel shame. Unfortunately, they aren’t referring to any of the debauch festivals and depraved events promoted throughout the month of June.
Ever detached from logic and reason, the month of July kicked off for the left with a reminder that America is filled with “hate and unrest” and “a lot of people probably don’t want to celebrate our nation right now.” At least that was the message from the City of Orlando, Florida Friday as they promoted their upcoming Independence Day fireworks display.
“A lot people probably don’t want to celebrate our nation right now, and we can’t blame them. When there is so much division, hate and unrest, why on earth would you want to have a party celebrating any of it?” the official message began in an email that the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) Lodge 25, among others, shared on social media.
We do not share the same views as the City of Orlando and find their comments in inflammatory and in poor taste. #cityoforlando pic.twitter.com/TESZXNJh8z

FOP 25 made clear “We do not share the same views as the City of Orlando and find their comments…inflammatory and in poor taste” with the message that continued to deride the annual celebration, “But in all seriousness, you know in your heart, Fourth of July fireworks are amazing, especially when you are standing in 90° heat, 100% humidity, next to 100,000 of your closest friends. In that moment, something takes over and we all become united in an inexplicable bond. Yes, America is in strife right now, but you know what…we already bought the fireworks.”
Members of the police union weren’t the only ones decrying city leadership for the divisive messaging ahead of the holiday.
Wow City of Orlando! Spoken like a true liberal. Don’t everybody jump on me at the same time now. 😆 Why would I not want to celebrate my life & liberty? That “division, hate & unrest” ain’t got nothing to do with me!

Who wrote this? Who approved these negative remarks? So short sighted. If you have a problem with something, fix it. Vote! I am so disappointed in the City of Orlando.

Be the change you want to see, city of Orlando. This isn’t it. You speak of being upset with the division, hate and unrest and your approach is to participate and fan the flames of it. Drain the swamp. 🇺🇸

The original statement was way out of line. I can’t stand the politics and the direction we are headed. But I love this country and will always fight to defend it, even with all of its mistakes. America is still the greatest country in the world, and O-town is the greatest city!

On the other hand, Democratic state Rep. Anna Eskamani, a progressive left lawmaker who represents part of Orlando, defended the Democrat-run city, tweeting that they “captured the tone” accurately.
“Y’all do not need to apologize — your first email captured the tone of how many Americans (and Orlandoans) are feeling right now. It’s ok not to be ok,” the former Planned Parenthood exec. tweeted.

The City of Orlando wasn’t alone in their anti-American sentiment to kick off July. A group of Arizona Democrats were also slammed for promoting a “F*ck the Fourth” march in Tucson, AZ.

The through line in these negative views toward Independence and the celebration of America’s founding appeared to be the overturning of Roe v. Wade by the Supreme Court once again demonstrating a failure or willful ignorance on the part of the left in understanding how our Democratic Republic operates. But, as the Pima County Democratic Party had deleted the tweet after taking too much flak, so to did the City of Orlando issue a lackluster apology for the original statement.

“The City of Orlando sincerely regrets the negative impact our words have had on some in our community,” they wrote. “We understand these words offended some of our residents, which was not our intent. We value the freedoms we have in this country and are thankful to the men and women who have fought and continue to fight for those. We take pride in celebrating the 4th of July to express our gratitude to those men and women and honor the country we live in.”
