Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’ campaign responded to another White House smear, this time over the Sunshine State’s new parental rights law protecting young children from being exposed to sexually inappropriate material in classrooms which went into effect on Friday.
It’s one thing for media hysterics to misrepresent HB-1557, the “Parental Rights in Education” bill that DeSantis signed into law earlier this year as the so-called “don’t say gay” bill but quite another when the disinformation is delivered by President Joe Biden’s top spokesperson. But that is exactly what White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre did in a statement released on Friday.
The history-making first black lesbian immigrant to hold the press secretary’s job depicted the law that protects children from groomers and perverts abusing their positions of trust as teachers to sexually indoctrinate impressionable young minds as being dangerous and discriminatory, exposing homosexual educators to persecution and students to bullying.
"This is not…'parents’ rights.' This is discrimination, plain & simple. It’s part of a disturbing & dangerous nationwide trend of right-wing politicians cynically targeting LGBTQI+ students, educators, & individuals to score political points." –@PressSec https://t.co/rn2aGhizcN

According to Jean-Pierre, “Today, some of Florida’s most vulnerable students and families are more fearful and less free. As the state’s shameful ‘Don’t Say Gay’ law takes effect, state officials who claim to champion liberty are limiting the freedom of their fellow Americans simply to be themselves.”
“Already, there have been reports that ‘Safe Space’ stickers are being taken down from classrooms. Teachers are being instructed not to wear rainbow clothing. LGBTQI+ teachers are being told to take down family photos of their husbands and wives—cherished family photos like the ones on my own desk,” she wrote, adding yet another letter of the alphabet to the acronym describing the small but noisy demographic and lending credence to sensationalist media stories.
“This is not an issue of ‘parents’ rights.’ This is discrimination, plain and simple. It’s part of a disturbing and dangerous nationwide trend of right-wing politicians cynically targeting LGBTQI+ students, educators, and individuals to score political points. It encourages bullying and threatens students’ mental health, physical safety, and well-being. It censors dedicated teachers and educators who want to do the right thing and support their students. And it must stop.” wrote Jean-Pierre.
Team DeSantis rejected Jean-Pierre’s lies and slanders.
“The White House continues to lie about Florida’s work to protect children as young as five years old from sexualized lesson plans,” Lindsey Curnutte who serves as the governor’s campaign spokeswoman told Fox News Digital in an exclusive statement.
“Governor DeSantis’s pro-parent education agenda stands in stark contrast to the policies coming out of Washington as Joe Biden tries to steal lunch money from our kids to push woke gender ideology. As a father of three young children, Governor DeSantis is committed to putting students first and protecting parents’ rights, and no false White House statement will change that.” she said.
It’s pretty obvious that DeSantis is in Biden’s head having clashed with the authoritarian leader over COVID lockdowns, mask mandates, illegal immigration and most recently, the jabbing of children five-years-old and younger and he is a formidable threat to Democrat control over the White House in 2024 if former President Donald J. Trump doesn’t run.
