AOC gets nails done as a ‘personal act of reclamation’ in ‘resistance’ to SCOTUS. Yes, really.

Democrat Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s fiery rhetoric over the Supreme Court’s overturning of Roe v. Wade has given way to her tendency to make everything about herself and her “personal act of reclamation” to protest the historic ruling was to have her nails done.

On Friday, the socialist diva took to Instagram to share a video with her avid fans claiming that even something as mundane as getting a manicure could be an act of resistance, quite possibly her most loopy statement yet but one which will serve to inspire her demoralized followers and satisfy her narcissistic craving for constant attention.

In the video which begins with the New York City congresswoman walking down the street wearing sunglasses, AOC turns something as trivial and uninteresting as getting her nails done into a captivating take on defiance of perceived oppressors as well as adding a personal touch on how she was raised in a strict conservative home.

“Hello, everybody. Happy Friday,” AOC began. “And I say happy because joy too can be an act of resistance.”

“Um, I want to talk about personal acts of reclamation,” she said. “Because sometimes people will say, ‘there’s nothing I can do, I can’t do, I feel so powerless.’”

“And there is no act too small, um, that you can engage in and even today, I have a personal errand, um, I need to redo my nails, and I’ve decided that I’m going to use my new manicure as almost like a personal act of reclamation for me and my story.”

“So I grew up in a pretty socially conservative environment,” she continued. “a very religious environment, um, I don’t talk about it much but that’s just what it is and it was very socially conservative again like to the point where I couldn’t really even paint my nails red until I pretty much graduated and left the house because there was just a lot of discussion about how red nails, red lipstick, it just portrays a message about the kind of woman that you are.”

“Um, and I think a lot of times, that kind of woman which is ungovernable, it often gets translated to loose, is seen as bad or negative,” she said. “Um, and I think like as I’ve grown older, what it really is is power, powerful women, bold women who do what they deem is best, that’s how I’m choosing to reclaim it, and um, I kind of started stepping into that energy when I first started wearing red lipstick on the campaign trail.”

Ocasio-Cortez also showed off the finished product, shiny red nails.

 

AOC’s story of her “personal act of reclamation” drew a savage response from Twitter.

Sadly, AOC’s legions of devotees who are dialed into her cult of personality are incapable of understanding that she is insulting their intelligence and she will almost certainly cruise to reelection this fall.
