In a post full of heartbreak and heroic strength, the wife of Charlotte Hornets player Miles Bridges has shared a series of photos taken after an alleged domestic violence attack that sent the rapping NBA star to jail.
“I hate that it has come to this,” wrote 24-year-old Mychelle Johnson in a Thursday Instagram post, “but I can’t be silent anymore. I’ve allowed someone to destroy my home, abuse me in every way possible and traumatize our kids for life.”

According to TMZ Sports, Bridges was arrested Wednesday in Los Angeles on a felony domestic violence charge for an incident that took place on Tuesday. Sources told TMZ that police had been called to the scene following the altercation, but by the time they arrived, Bridges was gone.
After turning himself in to LAPD custody on Wednesday afternoon, his bail was swiftly set at $130K and he was promptly released.
In addition to her brave statement, Johnson posted a series of photos in which multiple bruises, scratches, and a bloody ear can be plainly seen. Also posted was a shot of a medical report that notes Johnson was “a victim of abuse by a male partner” and lists a nasal bone fracture, a strained neck, and a concussion among her injuries.
“I have nothing to prove to the world,” Johnson stated, “but I won’t allow anyone who could do something so horrible to have no remorse and paint a picture of something I’m not.”
“I won’t allow the people around him to continue to protect this person,” she continued. “It’s unethical, it’s immoral, it’s truly SICK.”
“It hurts my heart because I’ve always had hope, and so much love and as scary as this is for me to do it’s time I stand up for myself,” Johnson said. “I won’t be silent to protect others anymore because I value myself and my kids more than anyone’s ‘image’… a fracture nose, wrist, torn eardrum, torn muscles in my neck from being choke until i went to sleep and a severe concussion.”
“I don’t need sympathy,” she stressed, “I just don’t want this happening to anyone else, I just want this person to get help, my kids deserve better. That’s all I want.”
Bridges, whom TMZ Sports says “is expected to be a top free agency target this off-season” is 6’7″ and 225 pounds.
When he isn’t shooting hoops, he’s rapping under the name RTB MB.
The two began dating in 2016 and have two children together.
“It hurts, everything hurts, this situation hurts, most importantly I’m scared and hurting for my kids who were witness to everything,” said Johnson.
In a statement issued Thursday, the Charlotte Hornets said, “The Charlotte Hornets are aware of the situation involving Miles Bridges. We will have no further comment at this time.”
