Rep. Adam Kinzinger classlessly smeared Liz Cheney’s opponents in Wyoming as “armpit farters” while avoiding the stark reality that pretty much no one in the state gives a rip about Jan. 6 and that Cheney has pretty much been awol.
“This debate really was filled with a bunch of arm-pit farters and then there was Liz Cheney, the only serious person up there,” Kinzinger tweeted with a short clip of cherry-picked comments from Cheney’s Republican challengers.

What was conveniently left out of the segment highlighted by Kinzinger was Harriet Hageman, who has been endorsed by former President Donald Trump and is a well-known natural resources attorney in Wyoming, unleashing on Cheney with the brutal truth.
Hageman didn’t flinch in calling Cheney out over her Jan. 6 obsession or the fact that she is nowhere to be found in the state when voters need her. Instead, she’s in D.C. rubbing elbows with the Democratic elite while attempting to bring down Trump and smear conservatives.

Greg Giroux, who reports for Bloomberg Government, quoted her on Twitter, “Hageman: ‘the press and certain people have obsessed over January 6th.’ Over 30,000 miles of campaign travel through Wyoming, ‘The only time that the J6 situation ever comes up is when people talk about how unfair this entire committee is.'”
The debate was held Thursday night in Cheyenne, Wyoming with Cheney and her four primary opponents onstage. Aside from Hageman, Burns State Senator, Anthony Bouchard, Denton Knapp, and Robyn Belinskey also took the stage at Sheridan College for the 90-minute debate. It was not open to the public since one of the candidates received death threats, according to Newsweek.
“I’d be interested to know whether or not my opponent, Ms. Hageman, is willing to say here tonight that the election was not stolen. She knows it wasn’t stolen. I think that she can’t say that it wasn’t stolen because she’s completely beholden to Donald Trump,” Cheney charged during the debate attempting to rip into Hageman. “And if she says it wasn’t stolen, he will not support her. So we’ve got to be honest, we have to be truthful — elected officials, in particular public servants, owe that to those people we represent.”
“We’re not a democracy — we’re a republic. Our republic is not in danger because of President Donald J. Trump. … The biggest threat to our republic is the current administration and the corruption of our institutions,” Hageman shot back.
“The press and certain people have obsessed over Jan. 6. Over 30,000 miles of campaign travel through Wyoming, the only time that the J6 situation ever comes up is when people talk about how unfair this entire committee is,” she responded. “They’re focusing on something that happened 18 months ago. They’re not focusing on the issues that are important to the people in Wyoming and they’re also ignoring the corruption that is absolutely destroying Washington D.C. and as a result taking down the rest of the country.”

Harriet laid it out very well what can be done. Most of the nation sees what a fiasco J6 committee is. Didn’t take long. We have a multitude of issues that need addressed. Liz’s focus is completely misplaced.

“The claims that Ms. Hageman is making about the 2020 election are the same claims for which the president’s lead lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, was disbarred,” Cheney viciously claimed.
According to an internal poll from a group that supports Hageman that was released in June, she has the support of 56 percent of voters in Wyoming, compared to 28 percent who said they would back Cheney.
Cheney has raised millions more in donations than Hageman during her re-election campaign but most of that money is coming from out of state and from those who cannot vote for her, according to Newsweek. She is also allegedly attempting to get Democrats to register as Republicans so they can vote for her.
The blowback over the debate and Kinzinger’s juvenile dig went on, and on, and on:
I know this might sound crazy to someone who lives in DC, but people in Wyoming care a lot more about the Biden gas gouging than J6. If you have ever been to Wyoming you know how spread out everything is and how necessary it is to drive, hundreds of miles a week isn’t abnormal.
