What you should know about ex-Meadows aide, ‘bombshell witness’ Cassidy Hutchinson

Cassidy Hutchinson, the former White House aide to Mark Meadows who gave at-length and somewhat dubious testimony in front of the Jan. 6 inquisition, has suddenly risen from obscurity and unemployment to be the darling of the left.

Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned, or in this case, a woman who evidently didn’t get a permanent staff position at Mar-a-Lago that she reportedly felt she was promised.

The so-called “star witness” of a surprise Jan. 6 committee hearing has quite the background.

She underwent more than 20 hours of deposition and leveled accusations against former President Donald Trump, accusing him of anger issues and intimating that he knew the Jan. 6 riot was coming. Her testimony amounts to hearsay and would most likely never be allowed in a court of law, but it was good to go for those looking to smear Trump and conservatives.

Hutchinson joined the White House in 2019 as a staff assistant with the Office of Legislative Affairs. Before that, she interned for Rep. Steve Scalise (R-La.) and Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas). Hutchinson was promoted in 2020 and served as an aide to former Chief of Staff Mark Meadows.

The Christopher Newport University graduate was tapped to be an intern at the White House during Trump’s presidency and she was “brought to tears” over it, according to her college’s newsroom.

During her internship, Hutchinson worked for the Office of Legislative Affairs.

She happily attended events hosted by the former president such as signing ceremonies and “frequently watched Marine One depart the South Lawn from my office window.”

“My small contribution to the quest to maintain American prosperity and excellence is a memory I will hold as one of the honors of my life,” Hutchinson proclaimed before turning on Trump.

She was a staff assistant in the Office of Legislative Affairs before she assumed the role of special assistant to Trump and advisor to Chief of Staff Mark Meadows.

The Washington Post quoted Brendan Buck, an ex-aide to former House Speaker Paul Ryan, who stated that as an aide to Meadows, Hutchinson “was always by [Meadows’] side … when there were meetings you’d expect to be principal-level or very small, senior staff-level, he would always insist she was in the room.”

An unnamed source told CNN that “she had very close access” to Meadows.

Sarah Matthews, who is a former Trump spokesperson, told leftist outlet PolitiFact that she was “essentially [Meadows’] right hand and a very close confidante of his even though she was pretty young.”

Matthews would go on to comment that Hutchinson was “extremely mature for her age, highly intelligent, very personable.”

“Her title might be misleading, people might overlook her, but her title did not exemplify all the duties she carried out for Mr. Meadows — she was definitely more than an executive assistant,” she asserted to PolitiFact.

Alyssa Farah Griffin, who is Pence’s former press secretary, texted PolitiFact that Hutchinson was a “consummate West Wing insider.”

“She was known as an incredibly hard and loyal worker — arriving as early as 6 am and often staying until after midnight. She flew all over the country on AF1 with the president,” Griffin texted. “She was well liked and well respected. Always moving a million miles a minute. She was also on a first-name basis with most Republican members of Congress, and was plugged in throughout Republican circles.”

What isn’t publicized much is that Hutchinson and Meadows had a falling out in 2021 according to CNN. At issue was that she was supposed to become permanent staff at Mar-a-Lago, but those plans never materialized.

Hutchinson has not been able to secure a full-time job since she worked in the White House according to The Washington Post.

Now that she has turned on Trump and the Republican Party, the Democrats have embraced her with open arms and her job opportunities have blossomed suddenly.
