With an electoral bloodbath in this year’s critical midterm elections only months away, some congressional Democrats are placing a higher priority on their own continued employment than on defending the disastrous policies of President Joe Biden.
One of them is Rep. Abigail Spanberger who has wisely chosen to reject help from the deeply unpopular leader.
The Virginia Democrat who is in a fight for her political life as voters prepared to punish her party talked with Fox News host Dana Perino on Tuesday’s edition of “America’s Newsroom” where she discussed the nation’s economic troubles and her upcoming race for reelection.
After declining to answer whether she will be supporting a Biden-Harris ticket in 2024, saying “I’m looking squarely towards 2022 and the reelection ahead of me,” the congresswoman discussed legislation that she introduced to help to tame inflation which is raging at the highest levels in four decades, hitting Americans hard in food and energy costs with no help at all coming from the White House.
Perino then asked her about bringing in Biden to help her fend off a challenge by Republican Yesli Vega, a military wife and law enforcement officer.
“Redistricting happened this year, you’re not the only one that’s looking at a different district than the one you first ran in, according to the Cook Political Report it is a toss-up, a Democratic toss-up, a D+1 district now is what they are calling it and I wonder as you look across the board, do you think that you’ll have President Biden come and campaign with you in that district?” Perino asked.
“I intend to do the campaigning myself,” Spanberger replied, shunning the toxic Biden.
“I am the candidate, it’s my name on the ballot, certainly when I first ran, I ran in an R+7 district and I won in that seat by getting out, speaking to voters, making sure that they know who I am and what it is that I intended to do for them,” she added, saying that in 2020, she “outperformed” Biden on the ballot.
Spanberger who is a former CIA officer, was one of the Democrats who lashed out at Speaker Nancy Pelosi and far-left socialist Democrats over their defund the police message which proved costly to the party’s candidates in 2020, dropping an F-bomb during a heated post-election conference call with House leadership.
According to a tweet from The Washington Post’s Erica Werner describing the call, Spanberger yelled “don’t say socialism ever again” and “If we run this race again we will get f**king torn apart again in 2022,” words that were lost on Pelosi and Biden who have doubled-down on their destructive socialist agenda.

Vega who seeks to wrest Virginia’s 7th Congressional District away from Democrat control took aim at her opponent and Pelosi over gas and grocery prices during a recent Fox News appearance where the Hispanic backlash against the Democratic Party was discussed.

“This is a direct result of failed Democrat leadership empowered by folks like Nancy Pelosi and Abigail Spanberger,” she said. “Hispanics like all Americans across the country are feeling the pinch at the gas pump, at the checkout line at the grocery store and gain, it’s a direct result of failed Democrat policies so Hispanics like all Americans you know, want to be empowered, want to be able to succeed in this country and you have a Democrat Party that is not allowing that because they’re more focused on ideology and power than actually delivering for the American people and that includes Hispanics…”
Spanberger may be in a dogfight but she realizes that any help from Biden will only benefit her opponent and has smartly chosen to shun the embattled head of her party in order to save herself.
