John Eastman, one of former President Trump’s legal advisors during the tumultuous transition period, and who provided legal advice and strategies to confront the irregularities of the 2020 election, was stopped by federal agents last Wednesday outside of a restaurant in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
Footage of the incident shows Eastman being frisked by several FBI agents—two of whom are inexplicably masked and thus obscuring their identities—in what looks to be the parking lot of a restaurant. The agents seized Eastman’s phone, but did so prior to serving the lawyer with a warrant, which Eastman duly notes in the footage of his arrest.

According to court documents filed by Eastman, in which he petitions to recover his property, the phone was handed over to the Department of Justice’s Office of the Inspector General. It was then sent to the department’s forensic lab in Northern Virginia.
The documents claim that Eastman “was forced to provide biometric data to open said phone,” and “was not provided a copy of the warrant until after his phone was seized, and even then, he was only given a copy of the search warrant but not the supporting affidavit referenced in it.”
The seizure of Eastman’s phone comes as part of a series of federal intimidation tactics orchestrated by the Stalinesque January 6 Committee, which has demonstrated a remarkable synergy with Biden’s Department of Justice. Whereas it is often impossible for Republican congressional committees to win any sort of cooperation from the Justice Department and federal agencies, the feds have been unusually supportive of the committee’s attempts to smear and harass the alleged plotters of Trump’s dastardly “coup.”
The tactics of the January 6 show trials and complicit federal agents suggest that, if anything, both are becoming increasingly desperate to keep the “Trump coup” narrative alive and well ahead of the upcoming midterm elections. They have little else to show for their stewardship of the nation’s government, having squandered the people’s goodwill and demonstrated a shocking degree of incompetence.
As the situation in the country grows less and less stable, with insupportable inflation and increasing unrest, the Democrats have become ever more unhinged in their obsession with Donald Trump, and their tiresome attempts to distract the country with insurrection fantasies have failed at every step. The January 6 spectacles, meanwhile, have continued to drag on to increasing public indifference.
For the time being, the Committee has settled on harassing Eastman, a minor character in the January 6 drama. Earlier this year, a district judge ordered Eastman to turn over hundreds of emails to the illegitimate Committee, and proclaimed that “based on the evidence the court finds that it is more likely than not that President Trump and Dr. Eastman dishonestly conspired to obstruct the joint session of Congress on January 6, 2021.”
Of far greater interest to the American public would be an investigation into those who dishonestly conspired to “save the 2020 election.”
