Steve Hilton exposes LA’s ‘brilliant’ plan to ban new gas stations to fight ‘climate emergency’

Fox News host Steve Hilton is hardly impressed with the “brilliant” idea reportedly floated by the Democrat-controlled Los Angeles city council that might end up banning the construction of new gas stations in support of climate change activism.

“All this reveals the fundamental problem with today’s left. They’ve become total ideologues, completely captured by theories, regardless of reality,” and who are pulling “useless” Joe Biden’s puppet strings, Hilton insisted in a monologue on his Sunday evening program in the video clip embedded above in which he didn’t mince words by any means.

According to the far-left, London-based Guardian, Los Angeles could be set to join “a movement that seeks to limit fossil fuels at the local level as part of efforts to combat the climate crisis.” L.A. could be following the lead of Petaluma, Calif., a San Francisco Bay area city that last year prohibited new service stations, reportedly the first municipality in the world to do so.

“Brilliant,” Hilton exclaimed sarcastically on his Sunday evening program about the L.A. proposal. “If there are no gas stations, there can’t be high gas stations. Why didn’t anyone think of that before? In fact, why not abolish crime by closing prisons, solve the immigration crisis by abolishing the border — oh wait, ‘that is not a joke,’ as Biden would say. Those are actually their ideas on crime and immigration.”

The host of “The Next Revolution” went on to that explain former President Donald Trump transformed the GOP from a party dominated by ideologues on the right with “his common-sense, practical conservative populism. Instead of theories about globalism and free trade, it became how do we help American workers. Pro-business on tax and regulation, but pro-worker on trade and immigration, and it worked, in reality.…”

Los Angeles-based Hilton, a naturalized American citizen who was once an advisor to former U.K. Prime Minister David Cameron, returned to the theme of Democrats stubbornly clinging to their failed theories.

“For example, even as they desperately beg the oil companies to produce more fossil fuels today to try and stave off a midterm wipeout, they’re still threatening to shut them down tomorrow in the name of their great transition.”

Hilton then pivoted to a critique of President Biden: “And the man who told us he’d be a competent moderate is too useless to stand up to any of it. Totally lost — pushed around by everyone, including the Easter Bunny.”

He continued: “This Biden regime is a deadly combination of extremism and incompetence,” citing out-of-control inflation, the botched Afghanistan withdrawal, the baby formula shortage. “It is non-stop, self-created catastrophe…”

Hilton called attention to Biden being dependent on a cheat sheet which he described as “the humiliating spectacle of the president of the United States given instruction cards for his every move like the feeble puppet of his handlers that he obviously is…”

The FNC host denounced Biden as “pathetically fronting for the incompetent time-servers and far-left ideologues who actually run today’s Democratic Party.”

L.A. city council member Paul Koretz told the Guardian that “We are ending oil drilling in Los Angeles. We are moving to all-electric new construction. And we are building toward fossil fuel-free transportation. Our great and influential city, which grew up around the automobile, is the perfect place to figure out how to move off the gas-powered car.”

Added a Koretz staffer: “Our daily bad habits are destroying the natural systems we depend on to exist. It’s really up to cities to turn around climate change. If you have lung cancer you stop smoking. If your planet is on fire, you stop throwing gasoline on it.”
