Democratic Congress members admit off the record that ‘nobody gives a bleep about January 6’

When a reporter was asked about whether the Jan. 6 incident impinges at all on elections and what truly matters to the American people, she stated that, basically, nobody gives a fig about it.

NBC News NOW anchor Chuck Todd asked Politico national correspondent Betsy Woodruff Swan on Wednesday about the issue and for once, the truth just about slipped out over Jan. 6. She conceded that voters don’t care about the Jan. 6 committee hearings and therefore neither do most Democrats, apparently.

As Congress braces for the historic 2022 midterms elections, where it is widely believed that Democrats will get stomped, the Politico reporter got blunt on where everyone stands concerning the inquisition hearings that are attempting to link former President Donald Trump’s efforts to combat voter fraud with the Capitol riot.

“Does the Jan. 6 hearing break through at all?” Todd asked after he showed polling that indicates most Republicans think Trump believed there was widespread fraud in the 2020 election.

“I don’t think it does. I’ve talked to two separate Democratic members of Congress in the last couple weeks about Jan. 6 — obviously, I can’t say who — and both of them have said, offhandedly, nobody gives a bleep about Jan. 6 when they are talking about their districts and the way that elections play out,” she commented.

She did assert that the Capitol riot is a “very important issue” that is an indicator of “the democratic trajectory that this country is on.” But then she went on to remark that Jan. 6 is not a “top-tier voting issue” for people going into the midterm elections.

“Top-tier issues are material concerns. How are people paying their mortgages? How much does it cost to get milk and bread? How much does it cost to get gas? Do these hearings result in different electoral outcomes for Democrats? I have yet to see any actual evidence that they do,” Woodruff Swan said addressing what really impacts Americans at the moment and it’s all about the economy that has imploded under Biden.

Despite the reporter’s lucid assessment of the hearings, the media is crying havoc over them. They have spun it the exact opposite way.

Former West Virginia lawmaker Derrick Evans was just sentenced to three months in prison on Wednesday after pleading guilty to storming the Capitol on January 6 and live-streaming it on Facebook.

CBS News congressional correspondent Scott MacFarlane reported that the defense and the judge asserted that January 6 was a historic moment that will cause you to always remember where you were when it occurred, just like 9/11 or the Challenger explosion.

Americans certainly don’t see it that way.

Morning Consult found in a recent survey that fewer than one-third of likely voters, 32 percent, believe the hearings will have a “major impact” on how they vote.

“While 40% of voters reported watching at least some of the June 9 hearing live, that percentage was driven by Democrats, 57% of whom said they tuned in,” a pollster commented. “Just one-third of independents and 27% of Republicans reported doing the same.”
