GOP lawmaker lashes out after J6 committee ignores Capitol Police debunking of ‘recon tour’ theory

Rep. Barry Loudermilk slammed the House select committee on the January 6 riot for continuing to smear him with sinister innuendo even after the Capitol Police debunked a Liz Cheney conspiracy theory that he led protesters on a recon mission of the Capitol on the day before the so-called “insurrection” took place.

Undeterred by a statement from Capitol Police Chief J. Thomas Manger that shot down allegations from Cheney and J6 committee chairman Rep. Bennie Thompson that the Georgia Republican assisted in the casing of the building, the committee stuck to its guns and released its video footage anyway, a blatant attempt to portray Loudermilk as being complicit in what has been portrayed as a legitimate attempt to overthrow the United States government.

“There is no evidence that Representative Loudermilk entered the U.S. Capitol with this group on January 5, 2021,” Manger wrote in his letter to Rep. Rodney Davis, the ranking member of the House Administration Committee. “We train our officers on being alert for people conducting surveillance or reconnaissance, and we do not consider any of the activities we observed as suspicious.”

Loudermilk, who has been the recipient of death threats as a result of the allegations took to Twitter to lash out at the committee’s ignoring the conclusions of the Capitol Police that he wasn’t doing anything to arouse their suspicions that his chaperoning of guests on January 5, 2021, was anything more nefarious than the standard tours given by lawmakers to their constituents.

“The Capitol Police already put this false accusation to bed, yet the Committee is undermining the Capitol Police and doubling down on their smear campaign, releasing so-called evidence of a tour of the House Office Buildings, which I have already publicly addressed,” the falsely accused congressman wrote.

“As Capitol Police confirmed, nothing about this visit with constituents was suspicious. The pictures show children holding bags from the House gift shop, which was open to visitors, and taking pictures of the Rayburn train,” he continued.

“This false narrative that the Committee and Democrats continue to push, that Republicans, including myself, led reconnaissance tours is verifiably false. No where that I went with the visitors in the House Office Buildings on January 5th were breached on January 6th;” he added, “and, to my knowledge, no one in that group was criminally charged in relation to January 6th. Once again, the Committee released this letter to the press, and did not contact me.”

“This type of behavior is irresponsible and has real consequences — including ongoing death threats to myself, my family, and my staff,” he said, pointing out the unscrupulous committee’s disregard for the safety of himself, his family and staffers.

Loudermilk also posted a sample of the threats that he has received since Cheney and company put a target on his back.

“I hope you get dragged in front of a military tribunal, I hope you get a Marine firing squad,” one man said. “That’s too good for you… I hope you die a billion mother f**king deaths in hell you pig…”

“Obviously, I think I like the 9/11 attackers better than I like you, you traitor,” another caller said, “because I want to see you with a shank and twisted shank in your throat.”

“Oh, and the ***** who answers your phone, you deserve to be beaten just like Gaddafi was,” referring to Libyan dictator Muammar Gaddafi who was chased down by a mob and sodomized with a knife after his government fell in 2011. “You deserve to be dragged out onto the street and beaten until you’re a bloody mess,” another man said.

Loudermilk has good reason to be concerned about the committee’s flagrant disregard for his safety after a mentally disturbed individual who had been egged on by Democrats traveled from California to assassinate Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh last week.

  1. It is abundantly obvious that Cheney and the J6 committee chairman Rep. Bennie Thompson along with the rest of the mental midgets on the committee have no interest in the truth and facts. They are making up their own “facts” as they go along as well as trying to change history!!

  2. Rep. Barry Loudermilk must come forward and testify under oath. He claims to have nothing to hide. ‘Put up or shut up!’

    1. So should Nancy Pelosi. Then we’d get the real answers as to why the Capital was breeched.

      1. Yes, if Nancy Pelosi has important information as to why the Capital was breeched, then she should come forward and testify. Maybe the investigation can find evidence of Trump calling out the National Guard for the protection of the capitol and the vote certification. Nancy Pelosi has no authorization to order the National Guard to do anything, that power rests with the President.

        1. You have it a little skewed. The President can only offer to send the National Guard (which he did twice in the days prior to January 6). The offer has to be accepted by the Speaker and the D.C. Mayor. It’s also documented that they both refused his offer. Trump will beat this thing just based on that.

  3. Why did Loudermilk first deny that he did ‘a tour’? Whether it was harmless or not, doesn’t ANY politician know a lie/cover-up is worse than fact nowadays?

  4. The seed of hate planted in 2015 against Pres. Trump has grown and is flourishing beyond anyone’s mind and ideas of what hate really is! The sound of ten million JOSEPH GOEBBELS!!!!

  5. What a disgrace these people are! Always ignoring the facts despite being right there in front of their faces. But then again, this isn’t about facts…this is only about their attempt to try and bring down as many republicans as they can because they know they’re headed for a slaughter in the midterms. I hope to never see Liz Cheney in Washington again after the elections. Wisconsin voters need to make sure that she is gone come 2023! Please don’t reward people like her for their criminal behaviors. Above all else, actions should always have consequences.

  6. These Jan 6 people are like the classic cartoon of Snidely Whiplash and the girl tied to the tracks. Anything goes in getting innocent people in trouble from their nefarious schemes.

  7. He should sue them for defamation. The only thing these losers understand is getting hit in the wallet.
