Chelsea Manning slams ‘transphobic’ Elon Musk over meme, says US headed for ‘civil conflict’

Former Army intelligence analysist and notorious data leaker Chelsea Manning vented her frustrations to the Daily Beast in an interview Monday that touched on Glenn Greenwald, the Canadian musician Grimes and the war in Ukraine, as well as Manning’s assertion that the U.S. is headed for civil war.

Greenwald and Manning evidently used to be good friends, that is until Greenwald started aligning himself with conservative figures like Tucker Carlson, which Manning could not tolerate even though Greenwald was one of her defenders in the data leak scandal that landed the disgraced soldier in prison.

She also took issue with Elon Musk, saying he is transphobic because of a tweet in which he made fun of Netflix after it was reported that Grimes and Chelsea were in a relationship — Manning would neither confirm nor deny rumors that she is dating Grimes, who is Musk’s ex and mother of two of his children.

Musk tweeted in March, “Netflix waiting for the war to end to make a movie about a black Ukraine guy falls in love with a transgender soldier.”

“The one thing I will say is he around that time definitely seemed transphobic, and rumor or speculation aside, that’s off-limits. I’m going to respond to it. Any transphobia in a transphobic environment is not OK,” Manning said in reference to Musk.

As for Greenwald, Manning told the Beast, “I saw that trending a certain way and I decided to go in a very different direction.”

“I can’t tell you how hard that was,” she said, after denouncing him on Twitter. Manning tweeted in September of last year, “glenn greenwald, i don’t have $10,000 right now but if i get it i want to send it back to you from a donation you once did. i can’t deal with this anymore. im terrified of you and everything you do. you’re greedy, unprincipled, and im embarrassed for ever considering you a friend”

“One of the problems I’ve been having is that one of the things he does is he feeds off the engagement and the fighting. I wanted to go on record: I don’t want a beef with Glenn. I don’t want to feed his fire. I don’t want to engage with that. I said what I said, and I meant what I said. I have many reasons,” Manning told the outlet.

“I think that he is a dangerous person. The people he’s aligned himself with are very dangerous,” Manning continued, adding, “A lot of people have been trending this way—it’s not just him—but he was the hardest. He was the hardest.”

It would also seem that Greenwald tweeting about the efficacy of Ivermectin as a treatment for COVID didn’t sit well with Manning either.

“I was just like, it’s time. I had agonized over it for years and it came from a very personal place, and I emotionally struggled to come forward with this.”

“It truly was a very deep, personal moment for me,” she said.

Manning also told the outlet she believes the U.S. is on the brink of civil war, or at least “a depression.”

“I do see the warning signs—insurgencies, conflicts. I see red flags all over the U.S. right now. I’m like, OK, y’all! It can happen here!” Manning said.

‘Every indicator is that, unless something drastically changes—which it isn’t—we’re gonna have a very dark era here in the U.S., whether that’s a civil conflict or something on the scale of a depression,” she warned.

“We’re living in a very gilded age. I’m very alarmed by the state of things in the U.S.—and the state of things in the world in general—but the U.S. has very little experience, and very little self-awareness of the precariousness of the situation.”

And of course, Manning had to echo the tiresome claims from the left-wing that democracy is in peril as a result of the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, which is the only riot over the last two-plus years they choose to remember.

“[People are] literally trying to pretend away an attempted coup,” she said.

And speaking of war, Manning was somehow able to get into Ukraine as a volunteer in March.

“I was at the border and did some volunteer work out there in March, so pretty early on. There were just so many refugees and there weren’t enough volunteers. One of the biggest problems I saw on the ground in the initial phase was there was a lack of translators, so there were a lot of hand-movements and using Google Translate on the phone.”

“The volunteers would fit in with that immediate need of helping refugees pouring in across the border unexpectedly, in very quick fashion.”

“I rotated out of there pretty fast, because the intensity of it was you were basically working for five days without sleep. It was non-stop,” she recalled.

Chelsea Manning, a biological male who was previously known as Bradley Manning, was sentenced in 2013 to 35 years in prison for the release of some 491,000 files to Wikileaks and was charged with 22 various counts of espionage-related crimes including “aiding the enemy” which is a capital offense punishable by death, but prosecutors chose not to pursue that level of punishment.

In January of 2017, Manning’s sentence was commuted by outgoing President Barack Obama.

Former President Trump tweeted at the time that Manning was an “ungrateful traitor” and should “never have been released.”

  1. All the freaks have gotten together and joined forces. They think they are empowered by the Obama , Clinton, Biden Fundamentally Changing the face of America. We know who wants civil unrest. They are trying to egg the right into a fight and then blame it on the Conservatives. Theyre addicted to excitement. Thats why their freaks. They need to watch what they say because they might not like the outcome.

  2. Stop calling these deranged men “she”- it only enables their untreated mental illness.

  3. Why give this piece of crap drama Queen any ounce of recognition! The article was all over the place to the point I gave up trying to make sense of it! This is what happens when crooks are given a pass! He changes his name to Chelsea and some how that excels him into someone who should have a voice of reason or merit instead of a criminal!
    Get lost weasel!

  4. Obama pardoned you, why? (Oh, yeah. Birds of a feather.) What a national treasure you are, you traitor.

  5. Oh Lord help us. I couldn’t get half way through that. Are we supposed to care about what this person has to say? That is what is most frustrating these days that any man who puts on a dress or woman who grows a beard should be our meter for social acceptance. Even being our moral guide. I had begun to call my home town of Seattle a cesspool and then the pool sprouted some creeks, and then a river and now it is well on it’s way to be an ocean or great lake connected to all the sanctuary no law cities/sates. At some point I am going to need someone to throw me a life raft because I am at the breaking point with all this crap. I will get my self locked up by telling some pervert they are indeed a pervert no matter what AOC or Creepy Joe say and the words minor attracted doesn’t change it. UGH I am losing it.

    1. Much like you, I couldn’t get very far into this article either. For me it wasn’t so much the fact that I couldn’t really give a shit what that traitorous waste of a human life said, it was more the fact that the author continued to call Manning “she”. I just simply can’t get onboard with this game being played that requires me to accept that a preferred pronoun means more than biological designation. It disgusts me

    1. Didn’t we hear Behar is leaving? Someone should throw a party on her last day, invite all 4 of the white supremist, Trump, DeSantis, all those terrorist parents too. I bet Nugent and Kid Rock would provide some musical entertainment.

    2. Belongs in a State mental institution along with the rest of the “trans” community.

  6. Why do people call it she? All everyone are doing is enabling it! Transphobic damn right I am! I strongly believe they are mental cases nothing more! I will never accept them as normal! Sorry but I believe boys are boys and girls are girls period if you think otherwise so be it but I don’t have to or have to accept it. My opinion and it’s they’re opinion. I respect they’re opinion they must respect mine……..

  7. chelsea needs to seek psychiatric help. Mental illness is the disease we’re now all fighting and he is not someone who should be talking at all.

  8. I’m definitely transphobic… Any person with that deep of a mental issue and self identity issue is ABSOLUTELY DANGEROUS AND UNSTABLE.

  9. IF… There is a civil conflict or war you people who hate the 2nd amendment better find a deep hole. Well because…..

  10. Hey, MR. Manning…

Clearly you don’t know what the word “transphobic” means!

The suffix “phobic” means to have an IRRATIONAL FEAR of something.

Just because one objects to what YOU believe, does not make them FEARFUL of it.

Are YOU “StraightPhobic”? Do you FEAR straight people?

Why don’t YOU celebrate, honor and PROMOTE Heterosexuality (as YOU expect others to celebrate YOUR homosexuality)?

  11. The Dictionary defines Phobia as “an obsessive or irrational fear or anxiety”. What I know of Elon Musk, he fears nothing. It is obvious to me that it is the “Trans” community is the one with a phobia. They obviously fear living with the gender they were born with. My question is; “Why should society have to pay for their fear or anxiety?”

  12. It wants its privileges, it does. It deserves to still be in prison, where it could attention-whore its transgender attention-whore self to its heart’s content, without bothering people busy trying to make their lives and country better, instead of ‘Progressive-ly’ stupider.
Ask it if it knows the ‘Golden Rule’.
