“So You Think You Can Dance” judge Matthew Morrison is defending himself after being ousted over an alleged text message he sent to a contestant that was anonymously reported as being “inappropriate.”

“It’s really unfortunate that I have to sit here and defend myself and my family against blatantly untrue statements made anonymously, but I have nothing to hide,” the former “Glee” star, 43, stated on Instagram Thursday.

“So, in the interest of transparency, I will read to you the one message that I wrote to a dancer on the show,” the actor, dancer, and singer-songwriter announced.

“Hey! It’s Matthew. If you don’t mind, would love to get your number and talk you through some things. The end,” Morrison stated in the message. He claims it was sent because he and the unnamed individual “share a mutual respect” for the same choreographer and he was trying to get her a job.

“I’ve known her [the choreographer] for over 20 years and was trying to help her get a job as a choreographer on the show,” he contended. “It’s devastating that we live in this world where gossip rules and people’s lives are being thrown around as clickbait. I think this is much bigger than me and this story. Gossip is toxic, and it is destroying our society, and we need to do better.”

Morrison was tapped as a judge for Season 17 of “So You Think You Can Dance” along with JoJo Siwa, Stephen “tWitch” Boss, and Cat Deeley.

When he was given the boot last Friday, fans were shocked that he was gone after reportedly not following “competition production protocols.”

“Having the opportunity to be a judge on ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ was an incredible honor for me. Therefore, it is my deepest regret to inform you that I will be leaving the show,” Morrison, who has been married to Renee Puente since 2014, told Us Weekly via a statement on May 27.

“After filming the audition rounds for the show and completing the selection of the 12 finalists, I did not follow competition production protocols, preventing me from being able to judge the competition fairly. I cannot apologize enough to all involved and I will be watching alongside you all on what I know will be one of the best seasons yet,” he candidly stated.

People magazine later reported that Morrison was fired for having “an inappropriate relationship” with a female contestant which apparently was not the case.

“They didn’t have sex, but he reached out to her through flirty direct messages on social media,” a source claimed to the media outlet, noting that they “never met up” off-set.

“She felt uncomfortable with his line of comments and went to producers, who then got Fox involved. He was fired after they did their own investigation,” the source claimed. “It was just messages that crossed the line.”

Morrison’s wife Renee Puente shared her husband’s video on her Instagram Story and wrote a response of her own in a second slide. “It’s been a wild ride… My husband has finally been given an opportunity to speak his truth. He has done so with such grace and integrity in a situation that is complex and incredibly complicated.”

“Gossip and cruelty are poison that have penetrated the depths of our society and somehow have made people forget their true nature- Love & compassion,” she continued. Puente added a quote concerning “negativity” and another on “letting go gives us freedom.”

“To all those who have shined love and light in our lives through this… thank you … To all the rest- sending Love & Light,” she concluded.

A new judge is expected to be brought onto the panel in time for the next part of the competition, beginning June 15. An announcement about Morrison’s successor is expected shortly, according to Entertainment Weekly.

  1. It’s not so funny when the democrats agenda smacks them upside their own heads is it!

  2. I dont care! Maybe he can get a job . Roofing or street sweeping . Something where he actually has to work for a living. Then maybe he can join the human race and be productive. I have no respect for this type of person.

  3. If he voted “woke” he got what he deserved.
If he has stood up to “woke” then I feel very bad for him.

Maybe he got a taste of his own poison.

I just did the research and he is a BIG DEMOCRAT SUPPORTER
HE GOT A NICE HELPING WHAT HE HAS SUPPORTED HIS WHOLE LIFE.

The final speaker of the rally, Matthew Morrison, entered the room to standing applause and enthusiastic responses from the audience members. Morrison, who flew on a red-eye from California to campaign for the Democratic candidates, stressed the importance of voting and injected seemingly Glee-inspired words of wisdom regarding LGBT hate crimes and personal empowerment into his speech.

FOOL – I don’t feel sorry for you.

  4. Very interesting. I saw another one of them “SPAM” post,,so I logged on to report it and …POOF it was gone
