A day after Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced sweeping actions that threaten the self-defense capabilities of his citizenry, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre wouldn’t rule out President Joe Biden taking a similar course.
Fundamentally, the United States is unlike any other nation in the world. An American’s rights are meant to be protected through the Constitution, and yet, the people elected into office who swore to uphold it continue to behave as though the rights enshrined therein do not exist.
When Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy had a chance to ask some questions at Tuesday’s press briefing, he led with the possibility of an infringement upon the Second Amendment.
“Canada is making it impossible to buy, sell, transfer, or import handguns anywhere in that country,” he stated. “Would President Biden ever consider a similar restriction on handguns here?”
“So, you know, we’ll leave it up to other countries to set their policy on gun ownership,” Jean-Pierre replied rather dismissively. Rather than leave the matter there, affirm an Americans’ right to keep and bear arms, or even dodge the meat of Doocy’s question, she demonstrated that the administration is not shying away from a potential crackdown on gun ownership.
“The president has made his position clear: The United States needs to act. As I just laid out, he supports a ban on sale of assault weapons and high-capacity magazines and expanded background checks to keep guns out of the dangerous hands,” she reviewed before adding, “He does not support a ban on the sale of all handguns.”
In other words, Biden wants to ban as many firearms as he can get away with. The only thing stopping him is the law. “Canadians, unlike Americans, do not have a constitutional right to bear arms,” according to a 1993 decision by the Supreme Court of Canada.
“The president has made this one of his priorities from the first day that he walked in – into this – this administration,” Jean-Pierre said of Biden’s plans on gun control legislation, “and now he’s calling on Congress to act. And so, he is hopeful. He wants to make sure there’s action.”

On Monday, the president also made clear that he intends to do more than just push back on high-capacity magazines and so-called assault weapons. Repeating the debunked claim that the Second Amendment did not permit citizens from owning a cannon, Biden once again explained that, to him, the words “shall not be infringed” mean “no right is absolute” as he now seeks a way to restrict the caliber of firearms available to the public.
While she expressed the administration might be at a dead-end for the time being, Jean-Pierre went on to suggest there is no limit to the lengths they are willing to take to get their way on this issue.
“Look, the president has done everything that he can from – from the federal government. We are looking at other executive actions that we can possibly do,” she said.

The Canadians, like the Australians, do not have a Constitution. They do not have a Bill of Rights. They do not have the checks and balances we have within our government because of the Constitution. Joe can say ‘we’re taking your guns’ but he is overstepping his power. He will be opening a very volatile can of worms if he thinks he can do a ‘Trudie’. We may sound like Canadians, look like Canadians, but WE ARE NOT Canadians, nor do we have a government like theirs. No, and no.
The very reason they want to take them (and, believe me, it is NOT about school shootings) is the reason we have them in the first place. Our Founding Fathers may not have been ‘perfect men’ but they were wise in the ways of tyrants. We broke away from Britain’s rule for this reason; the Canadians and Aussies did not. They have inherited the problems. They trusted they’d always be free.
When the O’Bummer reigned, I called them “Imperial Decrees”.
As it has been said by other commenters, the Founders very carefully and intentionally put in the phrase “shall not be infringed”. It is absolute and definitive.

Search through recordings of Manchu Joe about the 2nd Amendment (or was it the 1st”) where he said that that Amendment was not absolute, then went on to say “No Amendment is absolute”. I think he pretty well disclosed his committment to the Constitution at that point.
Follow the placement of the commas in the 2nd Amendment! Then look up the use of commas! Then you will understand that the comma placement was used to confer the clauses within the 2nd Amendment.
Go for it Joe. Ban guns in the USA.

So, “shall not be infringed” actually means “shall be infringed”?
This buffoon Biden cannot use Executive Orders to eliminate a Constitutional Right. He might try – but the Supreme Court would overturn it-no worries there. But the Dems will take every measure they can, like taxing ammo and guns with huge fees, suing gun manufacturers and ammo makers out of business. Making it so costly for them that they just close their doors, and gun owners having to pay yearly registration fees for each gun.
I want to see Joe do it. There are many many gun toting Democrats in this country.
But, how many can, individually, stand up to a SWAT squad with military grade equipment?
And the much asked question about the latest school shooter…where did he get the guns and ammo? Where did he get the money for them?
How did he not get “flagged” as having mental issues?
But until appeals reach the Supreme Court, what havoc will have taken place.

Biden and his Socialist minions are not the brightest bulbs in the socket. The CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT to own a gun is not simply done away with by Slo’ Joe signing a paper Barack Obama’s people came up with. There is a legal and Constitutional way to amend, enact, or repeal an Amendment to the Constitution. Even Socialists have to follow it, for now, that is.
The government trying to take our guns is precisely why the 2A exists.
During the 2020 campaign, I heard SloJoe say that “No amendment in the Bill of Rights is absolute.” That scared me more than anything, even the prospect of him “winning.”Since he assumed office, he has repeated those words. And look at what has happened to our 1st Amendment. Look at what happened to the rights of the J6 “detainees” who’ve been denied the due process afforded by the Constitution. Now Biden wants to subvert the 2A. His megalomania in trying to subvert the Founding Fathers is a cancer, and the metastasis must stop.

If the constitution said “SHOULD not be infringed on”, I’d say there was .000000001 chance that their suggestion has merit. But, as usual, the founding fathers were brighter than today’s Ivy Leaguer, and wrote, “SHALL not be infringed on”, which is even a stronger word than WILL. Nope, as usual…..Jerky Joe is dead wrong.

He needs a 2/3 majority from Congress to repeal an amendment. We’d better pray that the midterms yield a strong Republican majority. It is vital to the survival of our Republic.
