BBC accused of altering alleged rape victim’s quote to avoid ‘misgendering’ transgender male attacker

The woke BBC is being accused of outrageously altering an alleged rape victim’s quotes by replacing pronouns to be more inclusive in an effort to protect her transgender attacker from “misgendering.”

The Times of London broke the story that the British media outlet previously quoted a woman who claimed she was raped by a transgender male and then altered her words to be politically correct. Her quotes were part of a report from 2021 on lesbians who have been “coerced into sex with transgender women.”

The story was published on Oct. 26, 2021. It covered a lesbian campaign called “Get the L Out.” Gay women were candidly asked about their sexual relationships with transgender women.

Three women gave interviews to the BBC for the story. It was headlined, “We’re being pressured into sex by some trans women.” One of the women who was interviewed for the piece claimed she was raped during an encounter.

“The woman referred to her alleged rapist as ‘him’ but insiders said that her words were changed to avoid ‘misgendering’ the abuser in an article on the corporation’s website,” the Times of London reported.

“The BBC article replaced every reference to ‘he’ or ‘him’ with ‘they’ or ‘them’. A source said the quote was the subject of heated debate prior to publication. Some journalists argued that the quote should remain intact, while others said it should reflect the trans woman’s preferred she/her pronouns,” the outlet noted.

The woman originally told the BBC, “I was too young to argue and had been brainwashed by queer theory so he was a ‘woman’ even if every fiber of my being was screaming throughout, so I agreed to go home with him. He used physical force when I changed my mind upon seeing his penis and raped me.”

But the edited version is notably different, “[They] threatened to out me as a terf and risk my job if I refused to sleep with [them],” the woman stated. “I was too young to argue and had been brainwashed by queer theory so [they were] a ‘woman’ even if every fiber of my being was screaming throughout so I agreed to go home with [them]. [They] used physical force when I changed my mind upon seeing [their] penis and raped me.”

“Terf” stands for a trans-exclusionary radical feminist.

One of the Times’ sources claimed that “woke” ideology was to blame for the decision to remove male pronouns from the quote.

“They were originally all-male references but the woke bros at the news website wanted to make them female because of misgendering,” the person charged. “It’s quite shocking. I can’t think of any other situation where we would change the words of an alleged rape victim.”

The BBC’s diversity team is being blamed for all of this. Sources claim they have too much influence over the media outlet’s style guide and news division.

“It’s really unethical and disrespectful to the victim,” Angela Wild, “Get The L Out” co-founder asserted, according to Mediaite. “It’s a form of gaslighting for a woman who has already been through sexual violence.”

Following the adjusted article’s publication, it became the subject of a huge number of complaints. Over 20,000 people, including members of the BBC’s staff, reportedly signed an open letter accusing the story of being “deeply flawed” and “incredibly dangerous,” according to the Daily Mail.

“While the ECU ruling today rightly confirms the focus of the article was a legitimate area for journalistic scrutiny, it is also a reminder that the precision of our language and the caveats we place around third-party research are very important in our journalism, particularly when covering topics of highly polarised debate. In the light of the ECU ruling, the BBC has now made some amendments to the story to reflect where we got things wrong.,” the BBC contended in a statement.

  1. The BBC offering “fake news”? Why, that`s as outrageous as accusing the rest of the msm of doing this…After all, only crazy people think that the msm is a prevaricating propaganda arm of the left… Count me as one of these crazies!

  2. Sounds to me as a train went thru their with all those they’s and thems,,,just that woke ideology is shameful to the victim, not to mention people looking for multiple attackers,,,assclownS,,,,,FJB,,,,,,,
    sympl1

  3. Oh please – headline should have said BBC panders to rapist and changes victim’s statement.

  4. The BBC is known as the Bull**it Broadcasting Corporation ever since the leftys took it over twenty years ago.

  5. This is beyond disgraceful ! I am frankly, disgusted with what is going on right now. Transgenders using bathrooms of the opposite sex, transgenders competing against members of the opposite sex. When will this insanity end ? Not only is it ludicrous, but it is also very dangerous.

    1. There is no such thing as trans gender. You are born as Either male or a female. If you grow up as a girl thinking you want to be a boy you are probably a tomboy and need to wait until you can decide for yourself. This was never an issue prior to maybe 60 years ago when all of these nut jobs started coming out of the closet. We need to stop encouraging young people to become queer. Our children need help
