‘Time to sit down, you charlatan’: Parkland father slams David Hogg and his ‘BS’ ‘revisionist history’

While gun confiscation advocate and failed pillow entrepreneur David Hogg attempted to bask in the limelight of his tragedy-driven celebrity by taking credit for accomplishments he opposed, one Parkland victim’s parent said history cannot be changed by the will of a tweet.

After an 18-year-old suspect entered Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas Tuesday and massacred 19 children and two teachers, the knee jerk reaction of the left was not to wait to fully comprehend what happened, but to push for immediate actions. In their drive to erode the Second Amendment, most arguments from the right on actions to shore up school security were dismissed except in the case of Hogg.

Instead of discrediting Republicans for promoting sensible and meaningful reforms, the survivor of the 2018 shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida attempted to usurp the legislative achievements from his home state as his own accomplishments.

“I understand there are many disagreements about what we should do but the important thing is we all agree we need to do something,” Hogg tweeted. “In the week of Parkland we worked with our Republican Legislature and governor and got gun safety past Congress can do the same.”

Ryan Petty, father to 14-year-old Alaina Petty who was killed during the Parkland tragedy would not stand idly by as one of the founders of March For Our Lives attempted to further his own brand when he had actively worked against enacting public safety measures.

“This is absolute revisionist history and quite frankly, BS,” Petty wrote. “You did nothing but make it more difficult for us to get the MSD bill passed in the Florida Legislature. It’s time to sit down, you charlatan.”

The legislative action that passed in 2018 and 2019 took measures to keep firearms away from the mentally ill while also creating a measurable assessment of government-run schools regarding their safety. Petty didn’t just make the accusation and leave the matter be though. He brought receipts to show that all Hogg ever did was latch onto preexisting national movements already striving toward gun control.

In each of the articles shared by Petty, he showed how the movement promoted as just a bunch of kids gaining national traction was not grassroots at all, but entirely astroturf. As The Federalist stated, “In other words, the response was professionalized…and Rep. Ted Lieu [D-CA] stated on Twitter that his family knows Parkland student activist David Hogg’s family, so there were plenty of opportunities for grown-ups with resources and skills to connect the kids.”

Those connections, as with George Clooney ponying up half a million reported by The Washington Free Beacon, led Hogg and his activist group to attempt to get the safety act to include a ban on all “assault weapons,” according to the Tampa Bay Times. There is a big difference between working on the same bill and working with Republicans to get a bill passed.

  1. How is it that some will say that assault weapons were banned under President Reagan and others will say that today’s gun laws should be all about banning assault weapons?

    1. AND the reason that ban was not continued is because it didn’t work and did nothing to stop these shootings. Yet the moronic Democrats want to do it again.

  2. ??Didn’t CLOONEY >>Shoot and MURDER someone on a Movie Set recently? So, WHO, is stupid enough to “care” what this IDIOT says/thinks?

  3. Hogg has been using tragedies for his own promotion since Parkland. He wasn’t at school that day but seized the moment to claim victim hood, when in fact he was not. He’s predictable and not terribly bright. He failed at business because again he thinks he’s superior and is spewing the leftist mantra will make him rich. All he does is step in 💩.

  4. This high is a big for attention. The perfect dimocrat taking credit for other people’s hard work. I predict a career in the Senate.

  5. Choosing Hogg as a dem spokesman just shows how desperate the far left has become, as, this young man has nothing of value to offer, just acting as a reminder of the evil mass murder at his high school. (from which he learned no lessons of value)

    1. He wasn’t even attending school on the day of the attack! He’s just out of his mind being liberal and wanting all the fame he can find. Of course the lib and media lap up his every word. When will they ever learn to IGNORE the insane?

Recently the media fawned over ex con John Hinckley who tried to start a music career. He’s the one who tried to assassinate President Reagan, caused Press Secretary James Brady to spend the rest of his life paralyzed from the waist down in a wheelchair with a bullet lodged in his spine, and killed a policeman.

  6. David Pigg (little Hogg) needs to have his mouth washed out with soap to clean out all the lies he has told. He wasn’t even at Parkland high school when the shooting happened. I would call him a little piece of excrement, but that would be insulting excrement. By his criteria, everyone in America is a survivor of the shooting. FJB
