NYC raises eyebrows with Fentanyl junkie outreach campaign; ‘Don’t be ashamed, be empowered’

The deterioration of New York City is ongoing and the Democrat-controlled government is hellbent on speeding the decline of what was once one of America’s greatest cities with a new program reaching out to junkies with instructions on how to “safely” ingest fentanyl, the deadly drug that has been killing young Americans in great numbers.

The Big Apple’s Health Department has kicked off a “Let’s Talk Fentanyl” ad campaign assuring addicts that they shouldn’t be ashamed for using the drug and provides a step-by-step tutorial on how to get off on one of the most dangerous substances on the planet.

New Yorkers have noticed an increasing presence of propagandistic posters that have popped up on trains and buses with slogans such as “Don’t be ashamed you are using, be empowered that you are using safely,” featuring a woman called “Florence” from Manhattan who advises fentanyl users of how to prevent overdosing on a drug that according to one study, was the top cause of death for Americans from the age of 18 to 45 years old in 2020.

Among the helpful tips are “avoid using alone and take turns,” “avoid mixing drugs” and “test your drugs using fentanyl test strips.”

In another ad, “Juan from East Harlem” says that “Fentanyl test strips can save your life” while not bothering to mention that not doing drugs at all is the most surefire ticket to longevity.

“Fentanyl is not only in opioids, it’s in cocaine and pills too,” says another of the ads featuring “Althea” from the Bronx along with the same instructions on how to safely get high on drugs.

Republican City Council member Joe Borelli of Staten Island took to Twitter where he blasted what he called a “twisted decision,” writing that “This is the opposite of “harm reduction” This normalizes injecting deadly life-changing drugs.”

Borelli also wondered whether the city’s Metropolitan Transportation Authority approved of the posters promoting drug usage.

“It’s incredible that our commissioner thinks that putting useless cloth masks on toddlers is mitigating a real danger, but when it comes to heroin it’s all ‘Take turns you guys’ and ‘Use safely, smartly.’ It’s just bizarre,” he told the New York Post. “He seems like an ass.”

On Friday, Borelli wrote to the MTA asking the agency to take down the ads, “A DOH spokesman did not immediately respond to a request for comment about Borelli’s remarks,” according to the New York Post.

In Florida, a state that has become a top destination for refugees fleeing New York City, the state Health Department couldn’t resist jabbing its northern counterpart.

Twitter users also reacted to the NYC Health Department’s informational outreach program.

“The campaign, which began in December in a more limited way, was relaunched on May 9, with a broader distribution, according to the DOH, which did not respond to questions about its cost,” according to the New York Post.

  1. That’s not Florence, Juan or Althea in those pictures. Evidently they’ve never seen someone strung out on Heroin or Fentanyl!!

Seriously folks, it took me 37 years to leave the Democratic party but I have no regrets; you need to do the same. In my defense, I saw the major decline with Obama(who I voted for; no judgement, we all make mistakes) and the continued decline through the hysteria of Trumps win. Anyone who causes that much fear is definitely the right person for the job!

  2. For the elites, this is one sure way to ‘thin down’ drug consuming, ignorant American junkies. Tell them they’re doing nothing wrong and make sure they consume more AND make it easy for them. Very few will see their golden years, let alone middle age. Overdoses and a hard lifestyle will take them down sooner or later. They are nothing to these people, so why waste time and money on their rehab and saving them. It is the same for the very confused gender bending young people. Depression and other mental health issues have driven them to grasp and claw for meaning in their lives and to know who they are. Instead of treating the problem, these people tell them to revel in it, demand acceptance and blame society for making them unhappy. Sadly, unless helped, many of these will not see their middle age or golden years either.

None of these people are less than human. All deserve compassion and help. Some won’t get there even with the best help, but why drive them to a miserable death? Society has turned its back on a merciful God and denied Him. They have chosen the path that leads to emptiness and hopelessness. May God have mercy on their souls.

  3. The only people stupider than those who came up with this campaign are the people running this site who can’t block the scumbag scammers in every comments section.

  4. Well, once again the only thing to say is, You can’t fix stupid! The second tidbit is, how is it that the people who think this kind of campaign is good all work for the government?

  5. Rise to the lowest form possible, next Americans will flood out of this drugged out crime ridden, highest murder rates, highest rapes, highest human trafficking good old USA. Thanks Govt. You single handed made this crap hole happen.

  6. Wow. An addicted country. Do what you’retokd and you get your next fix…….safely.

  7. How to destroy a country AND its people in 3 easy steps. God is bad. Men are women. Opiates are good.
