Biden whispers to Naval Academy grads: ‘I am your commander-in-chief so don’t ask me too tough a question’

Although White House politics have been grim since the loss of mean tweets and cheap gas, President Joe Biden has at least offered the American people something to laugh about as he continues to make gaffes and share falsehoods from behind the presidential podium.

Friday’s address to the U.S. Naval Academy graduates in Maryland was no exception where the 79-year-old president delivered multiple remarks that were not true. He also brought back his infamous whisper when he reminded the Class of 2022 that “I’m your commander-in-chief.”

“You’ve all got so much to be proud of, you really do,” he told the graduates at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis.

“By the way, once you’re commissioned, remember I am your Commander-in-Chief,” he leaned down to the microphone and whispered. “So don’t ask me too tough a question, okay?”

His speech was peppered with exaggerations, untruths, and general gaffes which raised eyebrows.

“I’ve been in and out of Iraq and Afghanistan over 40 – I think 38 times,” Biden told the graduating midshipmen.

But the number he threw out was generously inflated.

The real number of times he has visited Iraq and Afghanistan is just 21 according to Biden’s National Security Council (NSC), Fox News reported.

Biden also managed to create a make-believe ally with North Korea during his commencement speech when he noted that the Hermit Kingdom was among the nations willing to sanction Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“Did anybody think that when I called for sanctions against Russia, that in addition to NATO that Australia, Japan, North Korea and some of the ASEAN countries would stand up and support these sanctions?” he noted.

Although the president did not correct himself, official White House transcripts have crossed out the word North and added the word South in brackets.

Biden has a long history of misremembering the number of times he has been to Iraq and Afghanistan and during his campaign for the presidency, he noted that the number was “over 30 times” according to The Washington Post.

In September 2021, Biden made a claim that he recalled spending time at the Tree of Life Synagogue after the Oct. 27, 2018, mass shooting by an antisemite.

“I remember spending time at the — you know, going to the — you know, the Tree of Life Synagogue, speaking with the — just — it just is amazing these things are happening, happening in America,” he said.

There was only one wee problem with his recollection.

He never visited.

The tale was so tall that even leftist CNN fact-checkers noted “Biden’s claim about ‘spending time at’ and ‘going to’ Tree of Life is false; he did not go to the synagogue.”

The Tree of Life executive director Barb Feige also confirmed that Biden had not visited the synagogue since the attack.

Few people could be found on social media to back the president up despite his false claims. But some at least defended Biden because “He has no idea where he is, or why he’s there.”
