Early draft of NSBA letter called for National Guard, military to be deployed at school board meetings

An early draft of the letter from the National School Boards Association (NSBA) to the White House that originally sought to label parents as “domestic terrorists” shockingly called for the deployment of the Army National Guard and the military to monitor school board meetings.

The finding was released on Friday following an independent review by the NSBA, according to Fox News. All of this follows the organization apologizing for the issuance of the letter and then blaming former interim CEO and Executive Director Chip Slaven for the whole sordid affair.

An early draft of the letter reportedly stated, “We ask that the Army National Guard and its Military Police be deployed to certain school districts and related events where students and school personnel have been subjected to acts and threats of violence.”

The letter from the NSBA was originally sent to President Joe Biden in September of 2021. It requested that the administration investigate parents who attended school board meetings and protested Critical Race Theory as well as COVID mandates. The letter contended that school officials were facing threats and violence at the meetings and that the actions of parents should be examined under the Patriot Act as “domestic terrorists.”

On Oct. 4, 2021, Attorney General Merrick Garland issued a memorandum that instructed the FBI to collaborate with state and local leaders to address “threats against school administrators, board members, teachers, and staff.” He added that this “will open dedicated lines of communication for threat reporting, assessment, and response.”

The letter that was sent reportedly requested that the DOJ and “federal law enforcement monitor and, potentially, intervene in local school board meetings across the country” and asked for possible enforcement of the Gun-Free School Zone Act, the Patriot Act as it relates to domestic terrorism, the Matthew Shepard and James Byrd Jr. Hate Crimes Prevention Act, and the Conspiracy Against Rights statute, among others according to the Washington Examiner.

In the early draft of the letter, the NSBA also called protesting parents “plotters who are targeting schools and educators.”

Another part of the letter that was stricken addressed Critical Race Theory, “An increasing number of public school officials is facing physical threats because of propaganda purporting the inclusion of Critical Race Theory within classroom instruction and curricula.”

The independent 57-page review also reported that there was a collaboration between the NSBA, the White House, and the Department of Justice. It showed internal reactions and responses to the intense blowback over the NSBA and the Biden administration’s heavy-handed actions.

Current NSBA President Frank Henderson claims the board officers regret not reviewing the letter more closely and stated that it never should have been sent. The letter was only shared with board officers before it was sent to the Biden administration.

“The sentiments shared do not represent the board’s views or the views of the NSBA,” Henderson declared. “We are focused now on implementing processes to ensure this does not happen again.”

“The letter directly contradicts our core commitments to parent engagement, local control, and nonpartisanship,” said NSBA Executive Director and CEO John Heim, according to the Washington Times. “The sentiments shared in the letter do not represent the views or position of the NSBA. The NSBA does not seek or advocate for federal law enforcement intervention at local school board meetings.”

Nicole Neily, who is the president of Parents Defending Education, told the Washington Examiner that the investigation showed that White House officials betrayed the trust of the public.

“As a result of the NSBA’s internal investigation, the American people now know that Biden Administration officials did indeed work with NSBA on the since-retracted letter requesting federal intervention in school board issues,” Neily noted. “It is inexcusable that a senior White House advisor would have the audacity to collaborate on a public request to use the Patriot Act against families; this is, quite literally, a betrayal of trust by the highest levels of government.”

  1. I agree absolutely. In fact, it was a regular feature of ALL public meetings, following the French Revolution, to have members of the National Guard standing in attendance, so that those whose opinions did not gibe with the currently prevailing attitude could be seized, loaded into the tumbrel and taken to the nearest public square where a guillotine had been erected. The offending party could then be tried (and invariably convicted) by the gathered “citizens” whereupon he or she could be summarily beheaded. Yup, by all means, let’s have the protectors of the public will available to enforce it. I can’t wait to dust off my old uniform and gather my loyal troops to make sure that the citizenry, so long oppressed, have their rightful say.

  2. The Gestapo of Nazi Germany, the Stasi of East Germany, the KGB of the Soviet Union, the Guoanbu of China and the DGI of Cuba all have one thing in common, that being to Control the people. Will OUR National Guard be added to this list??? It starts with control of the media, then the schools, then of course guns must be taken away from the people because the government knows best and will protect them. Of course restrictions must be put in place to ensure that protection, it is for the common good, right??? The part that I don’t understand is just when did We the People Elect the National School Boards Association to run this country???

  3. I agree completely that the National Guard should have been deployed with their guns pointed directly at the school boards until they relented on their BS!!

  4. What? You union ghouls afraid of what the parents might do? There is no telling. Parents are fed up with the union and it’s members.

  5. Any body of adults, that are responsible for a child’s education, that needs the National Guard to protect them, perhaps should do a review, of what they are teaching the children.

  6. I’m guessing that School Board meetings are already closely monitored and even infiltrated.

  7. Just where is all the dark money that could make it worth while for professional eradicators to resolve the Biden, garland, myorka problems? How much would the price be and how many would need to be involved.
I’m sure as a country if they made it to court we could treat them just like the Clinton crime machine, no nothing to happen to them.

  8. How many more times must the Biden cabal violate our constitution before patriotic reps and senators will join forces to prosecute the cabal for violating their oaths of office, and, for treason?

  9. These fricking people need the patriot act applied to them some how. But I can’t imagine them prosecuting themselves.
If the American people can’t get this evil threw their heads and displace them we’re doomed.

  10. chip slaven and likeminded democrats apparently would expect these Guardsmen to violate the oath that every single one of them took to protect and defend our Constitutional rights, especially the ones that are either useless or injurious to the democrats’ agenda.

So the big question if democrats get their way is Would the Guardsmen protect and defend the Constitution as required, or would they follow the orders of democrats looking to crush dissent?

  11. If you dont agree with the school board and their policies you will be arrested. Just like the sister gov. in Russia.
