Jen Psaki may have left the building but the former White House press secretary just keeps on twisting the truth into knots as she did when faced with a question from a first-year college student who she answered with a generous helping of dishonesty and condescending snark.
During the Q & A portion of Psaki’s appearance at the Institute of Politics at the University of Chicago, a young man confronted her by asking about remarks that she had made about the mob protests that have taken place at the homes of Supreme Court Justices by angry activists who have been encouraged by the White House, including the ex-spox herself.
With students being given the opportunity to put their questions to Psaki, the young man who identified himself as Daniel Schmidt said that “I’m going to pull a little bit of a Peter Doocy mode right here,” a reference to the bulldog Fox News reporter who made her life miserable in her old job.
“So here it goes,” asked Schmidt. “A week ago after the Roe v. Wade protests were happening in front of the Supreme Court justices’ houses, you said, and I quote, ‘we certainly continue to encourage that people protest outside of judges’ homes…’”
“I never said that.” Psaki shot back, interrupting the young man before he could finish with the question.

Schmidt replied, “I’m quoting from…” as he held up his cellphone.
“I said peacefully,” replied Psaki.
“Yeah, sure, peacefully…” he said.
“That’s a key word in there,” Psaki added, said.
Undeterred, Schmidt pushed forward, “Peacefully, regardless, they’re protesting because they’re trying to impact the results.”
“It’s a federal crime to protest outside of justices’ homes to impact the results. So my question is, do you regret encouraging people to protest outside of justices’ homes?” he asked. “Even if it is peaceful, it still is a federal crime.”
“Well, first, thank you for your question and bringing it forward. Let me first say, because I think facts matter and facts are important, I never, I never encouraged anyone to protest,” Psaki responded, “I encouraged them to do, engage peacefully, and to do it without violence, without threats, and without intimidation, and that’s something I said many, many times and I think is vitally important.”
She continued, “It is also true that peacefully protesting in places where it is legal, and it is legal in many places in the country, including outside of some places in the country for sure, is something that is, that is allowed, and I’m not going to tell people, I don’t think it’s the role of the government to tell people where they can or cannot peacefully protest. If they’re breaking the law, of course, they shouldn’t do that, and I also said that, too. Thank you for your question.”
After Psaki’s response, The Chicago Thinker, the school’s independent student-run conservative and libertarian newspaper posted a clip of Psaki’s remarks on the mob intimidation on Twitter.
Uhmmm… pretty sure that’s what you said @jrpsaki 🤔 pic.twitter.com/cgsQymoFgQ

In another tweet, the student newspaper posted the federal law – US Code 1507 – that specifically states that it is a federal crime to engage in such protests “with the intent of influencing any judge, juror, witness or court officer,” making it pretty clear that the mobs were acting illegally.
Psaki: “I don’t think it’s the role of the government to tell people where they can or cannot peacefully protest.”

Last month, University of Chicago students also confronted leftist liars at the big “Disinformation and the Erosion of Democracy” conference that was sponsored by one of the nation’s foremost purveyors of disinformation, The Atlantic as CNN’s Brian Stelter was forced to play defense under questioning about the fake news and propaganda of his employer when he was dunked on by another first-year student.

Less than a week removed from her job as President Joe Biden’s top spinmeister, Psaki hasn’t missed a beat and should have little trouble easing into her new gig as a paid liar at MSNBC.
