‘Priceless’: Dem Rep should have done more research before blaming Dallas shooting on ‘white supremacy’

In a rush to blame all the horrors of the world on dangerous Republican rhetoric, the chairwoman of the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC), Rep. Joyce Beatty (D-Ohio), was quick to blame last week’s shooting at a Korean hair salon in Dallas on “White supremacy” and that racist white replacement theory.

The only problem with her argument? The suspect in the shooting is a black man.

Standing outside the Capitol Thursday with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) standing approvingly behind her, Beatty told the press, “On Monday, three people in a Korean-owned hair salon in Dallas were gunned by yet another white supremacy replacement theorist.”

“We are sick of the pipeline from racist rhetoric to racist violence,” Beatty declared.

Jeremy Smith, 37, is a black man who has been charged with three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after he allegedly opened fire on seven people inside the Hair World Salon, Fox News Digital reported.

After firing 13 shots from a .22 caliber rifle, Smith fled the scene in a minivan.

Dallas Police Chief Eddie Garcia told reporters that Smith had been involved two years prior in a vehicle crash with an Asian and, as a result, Smith has panic attacks and “delusions” when he’s around people of Asian descent.

The suspect had previously lost his job at an Ulta Beauty warehouse when he attacked his Asian boss.

Needless to say, Chief Garcia did not refer to Smith as a white supremacist who fears whites will be replaced by black and brown people.

The incident is, however, being investigated by the FBI as a hate crime.

To conservatives on Twitter, Beatty’s rush to politicize a tragedy to bolster her party’s narrative — regardless of how badly she botched it — is becoming an all-too-familiar occurrence.

“Never let the facts get in the way of the narrative,” wrote one user.

“Blame is an excellent defense mechanism,” noted another. “Whether you call it projection, denial, or displacement, blame helps you preserve your sense of self-esteem by avoiding awareness of your owm flaws or failings.”

“Just stirring the pot to the people who are disengaged with the news,” observed a third.

Many used Beatty’s accusations to call into question the representative’s I.Q.

“Moron,” one user stated simply.

“Does Calling a Black person a White Supremacist make them a Racist or just a Dummy?” asked another.

“What fools,” commented yet another.

But according to one user, Beatty’s ludicrous comments can be described in a single word: “Priceless.”
