Netflix memo tells employees who are offended by content to find another place to work

In an example of how the bottom line still matters to virtue-signaling “woke” corporations, streaming entertainment giant Netflix has informed employees that they should find another place to work if they are offended by the content.

Netflix has updated its position on corporate culture for the first time in five years, issuing a memo entitled “Netflix Culture — Seeking Excellence” that serves as the latest sign that corporations could be moving away from taking controversial political positions demanded by a vocal minority of activist troublemakers who create public relations problems and alienate customers.

In a new section of the memo called “Artistic Expression,” the company informed employees that public temper tantrums are unacceptable and that they can quit if offended.

The section reads, “Not everyone will like—or agree with—everything on our service. While every title is different, we approach them based on the same set of principles: we support the artistic expression of the creators we choose to work with; we program for a diversity of audiences and tastes; and we let viewers decide what’s appropriate for them, versus having Netflix censor specific artists or voices.”

“As employees we support the principle that Netflix offers a diversity of stories, even if we find some titles counter to our own personal values. Depending on your role, you may need to work on titles you perceive to be harmful. If you’d find it hard to support our content breadth, Netflix may not be the best place for you,” according to the memo which was first reported by Variety.

The updated guidance is also posted on the “jobs” portion of Netflix’s website so that prospective employees are put on notice as to the company’s stance before they apply.

Netflix just experienced its first loss of subscribers in a decade, losing a whopping 200,000 subscribers in the first quarter, sending shares plunging, and failing badly to meet projections of an addition of 2.5 million new subscribers.

It may not merely be a coincidence that the updates come after employees demanded the cancellation of Dave Chappelle because his jokes hurt their feelings, leading to hundreds staging a walkout in protest of humorous depictions of transgenderism by the comedian in his special “The Closer” last year.

In a section of the memo titled “Ethical Expectations,” Netflix stated, “Beyond candor in our day-to-day interactions, we act honorably, even when no one is looking. One test we use is to ask whether we would be ashamed if our actions were made public—and avoid doing anything where the answer would be yes.”

“Separately, we have lots of information that we want to keep confidential because it is commercially sensitive,” the memo read. “We expect all employees to protect confidential company information, whether or not it is marked “confidential.”

Last year, activists angrily reacted after a transgender staffer was fired for allegedly leaking confidential financial information on what Chappelle was paid.

Twitter users reacted to the news.

Netflix has also drawn criticism and chased off subscribers with offensive content such as “Cuties” which featured the sexual exploitation of young children.

The tide definitely seems to be shifting, especially after the fallout over Disney’s disastrous effort to impose its will on the state of Florida over its parental rights bill that took a strong stance against groomers in classrooms, a move that the global entertainment colossus soon regretted.

I make more then $12,000 a month online. It’s enough to comfortably replace my old jobs income, especially considering I only work about 11 to 12 hours a week from home. I was amazed how easy it was after I tried it…
🙂 AND GOOD LUCK.:)

Wow. Correct answer. If TV show offends, turn it off. If book offends, don’t buy, If people offend get better friends, If work place offends, get new job. Your responsibility to make your circle to your liking, not mine.

I called Netflix today to thank them for a step in the right direction. I was getting ready to cancel but I will wait awhile to see if they continue in the right direction,

Netflix hasn’t changed. How ignorant and easily fooled the masses are.
