Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) sat down for an explosive interview Friday with SiriusXM host Dean Obeidallah, telling him that Republicans are “dangerously menacing” when it comes to abortion and free speech and that they “don’t understand our Constitution.”
The host of “The Dean Obeidallah Show” specifically asked the radical leftist congresswoman about Republicans’ retaliation against Disney and the GOP’s stance on restricting abortion rights in light of the leaked draft opinion from the Supreme Court indicating that Roe v. Wade is about to be overturned.
“They are using state action to block academic freedom, to control women’s body based on their religious beliefs, which if we did it as Muslims, we would be demonized nightly on Fox News for literally banning a corporation by an act of law for speaking out against a piece of legislation. I can’t believe this is happening in front of us,” Obeidallah declared.
“Yeah. I mean, we are dealing with people who don’t understand our Constitution, don’t really care for our republic, and certainly don’t want democracy to exist in this country. The amount of democratic backsliding that they are advocating for is really dangerous,” Omar charged.
Overturning Roe would put the lives of women across the country at risk. It would fly in the face of decades of precedent and the overwhelming majority of public opinion. And they will not stop here.

“And, you know, I applaud you and others who are constantly talking about just how dangerously menacing Republicans have been, not just in their rhetoric, but the amount of legislation they are willing to introduce to strip people of their civil liberties, to, you know, curb the amount of free speech that we have in this country and the access to the constitutional rights that we are owed,” she stated.
“And that’s all because, you know, these people are not interested in working on behalf of their constituents and doing anything that is meaningful. They have a corporate agenda. They want tax cuts for the rich. They don’t care about working families. And so in order to distract from that, they use this, this vile rhetoric and have come up with an attempt to define who, you know, what America is, who counts as an American. And they want to change the fabric of our society, which is, you know, an open society where we are able to function as free and liberated people,” Omar remarked, echoing billionaire George Soros’ call for an open society.
On Thursday, Omar went after Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas) on the House floor for “regulating your uterus” over abortion.

“But it’s shocking to me that all of this is being championed and it’s coming from a party that believes in small government – party that talks about freedom, liberty. And this is the party now that wants to do everything that they can to tell women what decisions they can make about their reproductive rights. They want somebody like Senator Ted Cruz regulating your uterus. They want Senator Chuck Grassley having authority over your body. We have to say no,” she proclaimed, referring to Roe v. Wade being on the legalistic chopping block.
“If you care about women’s rights, you should be outraged by this decision. If you care about a woman’s right to choose, you should be outraged. If you care about women having access to healthcare, you should be outraged by this decision,” Omar railed.
