Middle school reportedly promotes secret LGBTQ club where kids are encouraged to lie to parents

The state of Colorado refuses to stay out of the news as left-wing ideologues lack stealth in their insidious efforts to shape the next generation in their image.

According to Erin Lee, whose daughter attends Wellington Middle School in Wellington, CO, the school created a Genders & Sexualities Alliance (GSA) club where students are encouraged to maintain silence about the goings-on in the LGBTQ forum; reminiscent of “The first rule of Fight Club is …”

In an interview with the New American Magazine posted to Twitter by Libs of TikTok, Lee says her daughter was invited to the club by her art teacher – under the ruse it was indeed an art club – and was summarily admonished upon arrival by a third-party that “what you hear in here, stays in here.”

“She explained to my daughter that if she is not 100% comfortable in her female body, then she’s transgender,” Lee said. “She then told the kids that parents aren’t safe, and that it’s OK to lie to them about where they are in order to attend this meeting.”

“She doubled down that parents aren’t safe [and] that heterosexuality and monogamy are not normal,” Lee alleged.

The Poudre School District confirmed the existence of the club but refused to comment on the specific workings involved, feebly citing the school district’s desire “to protect the privacy of the student and their family.”

A statement to Fox News Digital read, “In PSD, we promise to create and uphold equitable, inclusive, and rigorous educational opportunities, outcomes, and experiences for all students. As a district, we are committed to making our schools safe spaces in which all students can learn.”

The statement continued:

Genders and Sexualities Alliances, or GSAs, were established as safe spaces for members of the LGBTQIA+ community, allies, and any individual to come together with the goals of ensuring inclusivity, safety, and support.”

Discussions in GSAs may be confidential given that they can sometimes be sensitive in nature (i.e. a student may be “out” with specific friends but not with the community at large),” it continued. “In PSD, a GSA club could be student-sponsored, which is started/run/led by a student and has an adult present at meetings; or school-sponsored, which is started/run/led by an adult. The GSA at Wellington Middle School is school-sponsored.

The school district said that concerns from Lee have been addressed “on multiple occasions over the past year” and that her daughter is no longer a student in the district; having since been attending a private Christian school where her mother says she is “doing much better.”

The advocacy group, Parents Defending Education (PDE) identified the third-party speaker as Kimberly Chambers, who is the director of SPLASH Youth of Northern Colorado and a health coordinator in Larimer County, the outlet reported.

Email correspondence between Chambers and the girl’s art teacher was obtained by PDE and indicates that Chambers expressed concern over the student’s well-being after a prolonged absence from school that coincided with the controversy. She inquired “about doing a well-child check or whatever is within the policies of the school.”

Chambers has yet to respond to a request for comment from Fox News Digital.
