Dana Perino ‘can’t stand’ Biden’s ‘ultra-MAGA’ line of attack: ‘It’s not going to make inflation go away’

Whether or not President Joe Biden ever comes under scrutiny from his own administration for spreading misinformation/disinformation in smearing the MAGA movement, Dana Perino isn’t having it.

Reacting to Biden’s labeling of the GOP agenda and GOP decision-makers as “Ultra-MAGA,” Perino asserted that the branding is “gross to me” during a discussion of economic issues Tuesday evening on “The Five” on the Fox News Channel in the video clip embedded above.

Ironically, the congressional GOP under Mitch McConnell and Kevin McCarthy is often at odds with the America First, MAGA cohort.

Without evidence, Biden has previously claimed, in what is obviously an election-season talking point provided to him by his handlers, that “this MAGA crowd is really the most extreme political organization that’s existed in American history.”

According to outgoing White House press secretary Jen Psaki, Biden added the word “ultra” to give his remarks on Tuesday morning more of a pop. In this instance, Biden was talking about Sen. Rick Scott’s tax plan during which he incorrectly referred to Scott as being from Wisconsin rather than Florida.

As cohost Perino would point out later in her response, Scott’s legislation lacks the support of his colleagues, and Scott “is eating alone at the lunch table,” thus Biden’s premise is inaccurate.

That aside, a perhaps unusually animated Perino who had Psaki’s job in the G.W. Bush administration, popped Biden’s balloon over his failure to address out-of-control inflation and other related issues.

Her colleague Jesse Watters introduced the segment by asserting that “Americans are getting crushed by an avalanche of economic disasters,” and that all that a responsibility-evading Biden is doing is blaming the COVID-19 pandemic and the so-called Putin price hike.

“Is he giving it a little extra pop?” Watters asked Perino, who is usually a moderate voice on the daily panel.

For Perino, it was no sale.

“I can’t stand it because I feel like you’re walking down this aisle at the convenience store or the CVS and looking for something that would say ‘Ultra MAGA,’ and it’s gross to me,” Perino responded. “I can’t stand it, and I can’t get it out of my head, and I want them to stop.”

“Just because [Biden] comes out and says ‘Ultra-MAGA’ 20 times, it’s not going to make inflation go away,” Perino continued. “They can also say Rick Scott 100,000 times…Basically, there’s nobody in the Republican Party that signed on to his plan. He can have his plan, and he has every right to try to push it, but by no means does an ‘Ultra-MAGA’ group actually support it; that’s absurd.”

Perino, who also co-hosts “America’s Newsroom,” noted that tax-and-spend Democrats in Congress should be backing Scott’s plan, if the latter indeed calls for a tax increase. “Why don’t they jump on board the Rick Scott agenda?”

Former President Donald Trump is not on the ballot in 2022, Perino reminded the viewers (and any Biden operatives that might be watching.)

“Choice versus a referendum,” Perino explained about the upcoming November vote. “That’s exactly what you’re going to hear me say a hundred times. As many times as they say ‘Ultra-MAGA,’ I am going to say that because they know this from the Obama-Biden years of 2010 and 2014 where they lost seats. If it’s a choice between Biden or Trump, that’s what the team wants here — that’s what the Biden team wants. But everybody is dealing with inflation every single day. It’s a referendum on the president. That’s what the midterms are about. They can try to make it a choice; it’s going to be very difficult.”

Perino, who celebrated her 50th birthday on the FNC show on Monday, drew upon her White House experience as she concluded by identifying how the administration is failing the public.

“Last thing: As a communications person, with planning on having my boss go out and give a big speech about lowering gas prices, and then wake up in the morning, and all the headlines are like ‘oh, Triple A just  said it’s the record-high gas prices,’ and… you have billed something as a new plan, and you give an entire speech that has nothing new in it, then you have lost the confidence of the people who are turning to you, hoping that you will provide them with some relief, and they know it is not coming.”

  1. From Joey’s mouth a truthful utterance has never occurred.

I’m going to shut down the virus not the country.

I’m going to unite the country.

I have never spoken to Hunter about his business affairs.

We had a successful withdrawal from Afghanistan.

    This inflation is transitory.

Gas prices are up because of greedy oil company executives.

Food prices are up because of greedy food company executives.

    Putin’s price hike.

Putin doesn’t want to have to go against me.

This MAGA crowd is the biggest threat to the country.

I could go on, but you get the picture.

  2. Dana is classy. And I love her comparison of ultra maga to a wall down the aisle of a drug store.

  3. Supposedly DJT himself coined the phrase. Irregardless, coming from Biden’s mouth it is only reminiscent of his “coming out of the woods with bulging veins and carrying torches” remarks, and only makes Biden look like a behind-wipe.

    1. Just a reminder- there’s no such word as “irregardless”. It’s actually “regardless”: meaning without regard to … something.,

      1. I’m glad to see someone else has a grammar OCD. Mine’s almost as bad as my spelling OCD.
