Lincoln Project co-founder Steve Schmidt lashed out at conservative pundit Meghan McCain after her new book posted sales numbers so abysmal that they were downright embarrassing, taking great pleasure in calling her out as a “spoiled rotten, entitled bully” in mean-spirited remarks that had many who would not normally be inclined to do so, taking up sides with the daughter of deceased GOP Senator John McCain.
Schmidt, who was a top strategist for the longtime Arizona senator during his doomed 2008 White House bid would go on to hook up with a gaggle of likeminded political grifters to form the anti-Trump PAC that drew rave reviews from the media and liberals until the Lincoln Project was blindsided by a gay sexual abuse scandal against co-founder John Weaver, another McCain campaign veteran who allegedly preyed on young men.
Despite the group’s fall from grace, Schmidt has retained his elevated profile among Trump-hating leftists but his kicking of McCain’s daughter when she’s down was too much for some, including Pulitzer Prize winning investigative journalist Glenn Greenwald who came off the top rope to piledrive Schmidt in a short but brutal Twitter thread.
“I hope liberals are proud of their moral hero, the conscience of the nation, who weaponizes private conversations he claims to have had with someone’s mother, then publicizes them to malign his critics,” wrote Greenwald. “Transfer more of your cash to him to help defeat TRUMP!”

In another tweet, Greenwald wrote, “There’s a reason Steve Schmidt – while publicly branding himself McCain’s confidant — was barred from attending McCain’s funeral, just as Rick Weaver (Schmidt’s LP child-predator colleague who he covered for) and Nicolle Wallace were banned,” including a link to a 2018 Politico story detailing why Schmidt, current MSNBC host Nicolle Wallace and the homosexual “child-predator” Weaver were excluded from the deceased senator’s funeral.

According to Politico, it was suggested that there were hard feelings over criticism of the choice of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin to be McCain’s running mate that may have led to their being barred from paying their last respects, ““That cathedral will be filled with people who stabbed McCain in the front. Schmidt and Nicolle and Weaver stabbed him in the back and you can’t find a single McCain loyalist who will say different or feels different,” said one of the people familiar with the guest list and funeral arrangements,” according to the outlet.
In a third tweet, Greenwald sent out a picture of former Lincoln Project member George Conway who went on record as being supportive of calls for the group to shut down after reports of Weaver’s sexually predatory conduct began to surface along with a link to a story with the gory details.

As far as Schmidt’s grievances with the daughter of the iconic “Maverick” senator, he aired them publicly after her heavily promoted book tanked.
2/My daughter was three at the time and I made a promise to myself that I would make sure that my number one priority in life would be raising a child that never acted like @MeghanMcCain, a spoiled rotten, entitled bully. She is graduating high school next week! Mission achieved!

3/ Everyone who has ever worked with @MeghanMcCain from @abc @TheView @JoyVBehar @WhoopiGoldberg and a thousand others have seen the unfiltered version of what the whole of America has seen. That is why in a nation of 330 million people, 247 have bought it. Nothing new to learn

The feud, which has turned increasingly nasty has raged for days with the consultant continuing to unload on the former co-host of “The View” and has inadvertently done what many likely have believed to be impossible by turning Meghan McCain into a sympathetic figure.
