Elon Musk could fire Twitter’s chief ‘censor conservatives’ advocate, who made $17M last year

Twitter’s top lawyer and chief advocate for censoring conservatives, Vijaya Gadde, who was paid a whopping $17 million last year alone, may find herself unemployed along with many others after Tesla CEO Elon Musk takes over the social media platform.

It’s rumored, and legitimately so, that Musk will slash jobs and cut executive pay when he assumes control of Twitter in order to increase profit and further secure financing for his purchase of the company.

Musk has previously expressed “no confidence” in the senior management at Twitter and that certainly includes Gadde. He also said that the board of directors would all be fired as he takes the company private to safeguard it.

Gadde, 48, however, will not walk out empty-handed by any means. Her severance package is said to be worth $12.5 million, which includes the accelerated vesting of Twitter shares she owns, according to the New York Post.

When Gadde found out about Musk’s purchase of Twitter, she reportedly broke down in tears while speaking with colleagues about the development.

The powerful attorney was ripped in recent days by Musk, who tweeted a meme that portrayed her as oblivious to “liberal bias” at Twitter.

The meme sent out by Musk highlights an appearance that Gadde and former CEO Jack Dorsey made on Joe Rogan’s podcast in 2019. Both were confronted by journalist Tim Pool over the censorship of conservatives on Twitter.

Gadde was savaged by conservatives on Twitter after Musk tweeted the meme. A tweet from journalist Saagar Enjeti, who called Gadde Twitter’s “top censorship advocate” that “censored the Hunter Biden laptop story,” fueled the fire against her online.

Musk bluntly criticized Gadde and Twitter’s decision to suppress the New York Post’s story on Hunter Biden’s laptop-from-hell as well, saying it was “obviously incredibly inappropriate.” The censorship took place just weeks before the 2020 presidential election and labeled the story “content obtained through hacking that contains private information.” That claim would later be debunked.

Two years later, mainstream media outlets are verifying the story now that President Joe Biden is in office.

Musk has been accused of “misogyny” for taking umbrage at Gadde’s heavy-handed repressive tactics concerning censorship.

Lara Cohen, who is Twitter’s global head of partners, shared messages of support for Leslie Berland, the company’s chief marketing officer who was caught in leaked audio suggesting that Musk’s plans for free speech put them in “a very difficult position,” according to the New York Post.

“Color me shocked SHOCKED that people are coming for two of our prominent female executives on day 1 of this thing,” Cohen tweeted Tuesday, intimating that Musk somehow hates women.

She also tore into Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) who tweeted that Gadde was “the same one who led the charge to censor the Hunter Biden laptop reporting.”

Hawley is asking Musk to investigate the censorship at Twitter and make their actions an “open book.” That includes its history of banning, suspensions, and shadow banning of conservatives.

In a letter, he also asked the tech titan to look into “who was responsible for deliberately suppressing the New York Post’s now-vindicated reporting on Hunter Biden’s laptop and business dealings.”

  1. I’m thinking that after the Musk team of lawyers take a look at Vijaya Gadde’s freedom of speech violations, etc. and involve DOJ she will be lucky if she is allowed to walk away empty handed.

    1. I agree. She should NOT be “laid off” – she should be FIRED for CAUSE.

I’m fairly sure the gold-plate parachute she has doesn’t work under those circumstances.

  2. It is not Musk’s fault that the 2 most left wing, conservative hating, Putin wannabes are women. They did more to negatively affect the outcome of the 2020 election than Putin ever could. I wonder if Putin sent them congratulatory thanks for a job well done after the election.

  3. Hopefully Mr. Musk will take over Twitter quickly enough that the sluggards who “work” there will not have destroyed all of the incriminating evidence.

Cover up has likely become priority #1 inside Twitter.

    1. I would wager that Elon has already placed a trusted team of auditors and other investigators in T.

    2. All computer accounts for all employees have been frozen to stop any coverups or deletions until Musk’s own people can go through them

    3. The source code has been frozen so they can’t monkey with it during the transfer. I imagine Musk has his own people watching over it.
