Ouch! Dem Rep scorches himself in failed attempt to burn witness making a point about leftist hate

U.S. Rep. Hakeem Jeffries badly outsmarted himself when he bumbled his attempt to own a witness over the suggestion that Democrats despise Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas largely due to the fact that he is a black conservative.

During a House Judiciary subcommittee hearing on Wednesday about ethics and the nation’s highest court, the subject of Thomas came up in relation to texts between his wife and former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows about the 2020 election, a contest that former President Donald J. Trump insists was rigged against him. The messages have fueled calls for the senior justice’s removal from the bench.

While questioning expert witness and former Trump administration official Mark Paoletta, the New York Democrat sought to humiliate him only to be left looking like a complete fool after being informed of a rather inconvenient fact that completely undermined him.

“I believe Mr. Paoletta, you’ve echoed a similar sentiment, I think your quote is ‘many on the left hate Justice Thomas because he is a black conservative who has never bowed to those who demand that he must think a certain way because of the color of his skin.’ What evidence do you have to support that incendiary charge?” Jeffries asked.

Paoletta replied, “When Chairman Bennie Thompson calls him an Uncle Tom because of his views on voter id and affirmative action when in fact more black Americans support voter id and with respect to affirmative action in college education, they’re 62 percent opposed to it so that is the most vile, disgusting thing you can say,”

Caught completely off guard, Jeffries immediately went to the race card.

“Reclaiming my time! Reclaiming my time!” Jeffries blurted out. “The notion that that is, right, when some members on this side of the aisle and others have been called the N-word throughout different points of our life belies the point that you have a particular bias and it’s an overstatement which is not surprising when you look at the balance of your testimony and if Chairman Bennie Thompson has an observation to make, he’s entitled to free speech,” as he changed to subject to Ginni Thomas.

“Can I give you another example?” Paoletta shot back.

“No,” the chastened Jeffries replied.

Being confronted with Thompson’s remarks is deeply embarrassing for the party as it is the Mississippi Democrat who is heading up Nancy Pelosi’s prized select committee to investigate the so-called “insurrection” on January 6, 2021, and while his offensive remarks about Justice Thomas were made in 2014, revisiting them now is inconvenient timing as the chairman and his cohorts prep for televised hearings in June.

Paoletta received more respectful treatment from Rep. Matt Gaetz who asked about Chairman Thompson’s “racist attack” on Justice Thomas.

Needless to say, Jeffries was hammered by Twitter users.

Chairman Thompson’s remarks were first reported by BuzzFeed which posted video of the congressman’s conversation with the host of a black nationalist radio program.

Thompson was unapologetic for his racist smearing of Justice Thomas.

“‘Well if you look at his decisions on the court, they have been adverse to the minority community, and the people I represent have a real issue with an African-American not being sensible to those issues,’ Thompson, who is black, told CNN when asked to explain his comments,” CBS News reported, “While the term might be racially charged for some, for others, ‘It’s the truth,’ he said.”

  11. The single biggest threat to the black community at large happens to be the black congressman who represent their districts. The US taxpayers pump billions of dollars into black communities that never seem the fruits of those dollars.

Houston area has two couch black politicians serving in the house and they only time you here or see of them when there are photo ops or news reporter, so they can claim racism. Yet Jackson Lee, an Green. Have enriched them selves to very wealthy status of of the black community’s they have been elected.
      The trend of blacks in it for themselves must reverse or the black population will always be poor and unrepresented.

    I remember some of the lies and smears DemonRats used to attempt to keep Justice Thomas off SCOTUS. You would think they would stop after all these years, but their stupidity knows no bounds.

They care nothing about getting to the true issues that need to be addressed because when they fail, they can always use “race” as a defense!!
