Suspect in slaughter of Queens mom was in the US illegally, reports say

In a shocking new development in the gruesome murder of a New York City woman whose wound-riddled body was stuffed into a duffel bag and dragged away from her suburban home, the suspect in her murder was reportedly in the country illegally.

According to a report by the New York Post, 44-year-old David Bonola, a Mexican national who stabbed Orsolya Gaal of Queens nearly 60 times in an apparent lover’s dispute that turned deadly, was “in violation of immigration law” when he was arrested for the grisly slaying.

In its own reporting on the suspect, Fox News Digital reported that “two law enforcement sources with knowledge of the matter” told the outlet that “Bonola was in the country in violation of immigration law. Details of whether he entered the U.S. legally were not immediately available.”

Bonola first moved to the United States 21 years ago, according to police officials.

“ICE focuses its civil immigration enforcement priorities on the apprehension and removal of noncitizens who pose a threat to our national security, public safety, and border security,” an Immigration and Customs Enforcement spokesperson told Fox News Digital which reported it was “further told ICE has lodged a detainer with Queens Central Booking.”

The handyman who had an on-again-off-again affair with the 51-year-old victim for two years was caught on surveillance camera video dragging Gaal away from the crime scene in the hockey equipment bag, leaving her bloody corpse nearly a half-mile away from her Forest Hills home where it was discovered by the side of the road.

The suspect who was taken into custody by the NYPD gave a full confession to police, taking responsibility for the horrifying murder in which Gaal was viciously stabbed nearly five dozen times with a kitchen knife in her own basement, the scene of what is believed to be heated argument between the two.

“He is either let in voluntarily or he uses a key he has knowledge about hidden in the barbecue,” NYPD Chief of Detectives James Essig said, according to CBS New York. “A heated argument ensues between the two in the basement. A knife is brandished. A violent struggle ensues, resulting in our victim being stabbed ruthlessly and brutally in excess of 55 times.”

Police found the murder weapon at the scene along with clothing belonging to the suspect, some of it soaked in blood, and found that Bonola had sought medical treatment for wounds to his hands after the incident.

Her 13-year-old son was reportedly at home at the time when his mother was slaughtered.

The victim’s husband who was out of town at the time with the couple’s 17-year-old son on a scouting trip to potential colleges reportedly received a chilling text message from the alleged killer saying, “Your whole family is next.”

The extramarital affair couldn’t have ended worse for the victim and now there is the added tragedy that Bonola possibly shouldn’t have even been in the country to begin with.

Bonola has been charged with murder, criminal tampering, and criminal possession of a weapon.

    This victim was having an “on again, off again relationship” with this dirtbag, and I am guessing that he blackmailed her in continuing the relationship with the threat that he would kill her and her entire family if she didn’t submit to his demands!

  5. What is the evidence that the dead woman and handyman were involved in an affair? I’ve seen allegations in the media, but have yet to see where that information came from. If not true that is a terrible thing to do to her surviving family members and the woman who is no longer able to defend herself. FULL REPORT PLEASE.

    1. I am guessing that she had a single sexual event with this criminal, and she regretted it, but he blackmailed her into continuing the relationship with the promise that he would kill her entire family if she didn’t submit to his demands! Just a gut feeling, no proof of course!

  7. Does not matter if he is here with or without permission. He murdered, he has confessed his guilt, and no he should NOT be sent back to Mexico unless it is in a body bag. A gallows is all that is needed.

Not likely she let him in with her son home and not likely she went to the basement willingly with him having a kitchen knife with him! More likely he was already in the home waiting for her and forced her into the basement. It was premeditated when he goes into her home and arms himself with a knife. She put her entire family in jeopardy with carrying on an affair. If anybody knows where a key is hidden better change the locks!
