Former President Donald Trump’s unsuccessful bid to sue Omarosa Manigault Newman for writing a tell-all book about her time serving in the White House resulted in his campaign being forced to pay $1.3 million in her legal fees.
Newman was originally sued by the Trump campaign in 2018 for allegedly violating a nondisclosure agreement by publishing her book, titled “Unhinged.” The case’s arbitrator awarded the massive amount on Tuesday.
“Respondent was defending herself in a claim which was extensively litigated for more than three years, against an opponent who undoubtedly commanded far greater resources than did respondent,” claimed the arbitrator, according to The New York Times.
John Phillips, Newman’s lawyer, also responded to the ruling, saying that he believes it will send “a message that weaponized litigation will not be tolerated.”
Newman served as then-President Trump’s assistant as well as Office of Public Liaison director of communications but was fired in 2017 after she was reportedly caught abusing the car service for the White House. She went on to have a rather ugly, public battle of words and pen her “insider’s account of the Trump White House.”
Social media reaction to the ruling was mixed, though most people believe the victory to be only symbolic, and don’t think she’ll ever actually see the amount of money awarded:

Good luck collecting that.

Like he’s going to pay it.
It will cost her 20 million in legal fees and take 30 years for him to expire all his avenues of appeals for her to get paid. Then he’ll file for bankruptcy.— BostonGuy37 🇺🇸🇺🇦☘️🏒🥅🚨🥋 (@MattyTars76) April 21, 2022

This is just attorney’s fees, and I doubt they’ll ever collect.

They’ll do everything possible to drag it out for as long as possible. If I was her I wouldn’t count on that $$ anytime in the next decade or two.

Still. Can we talk about why she went there in the first place yet?

I hate that I’m alive at the same time as these people. I wish I didn’t know what an Omarosa is, but here we are.

Dare her to write that same book about a Clinton lol
Even though they win, they end up a loser. Darn the luck! Some people just cant win for losing. Omarosa , hmmm sounds like a ranch in Mexico. Loved the post about the guy still waiting on the Meuller Indictment. Cracked me up!😜
Someone should order a hit on that obnoxious broad.
Your typical black celebrity type- just looking to get paid- with NO loyalty, honor or integrity. I could never do such a thing to a person who gave me such opportunities. as Trump gave her.
Yes, its really a sad thing. Remember the days when you could count on people to stand with you all the way to the end if necessary. Its interesting which ones do and which ones turn their backs. The ones you lest expect that out of also. Betrayal always stands right beside you and most often greets you with a kiss.
Omogrosso.
Did she, or did t she, sign a NDA when she went to the WH?
That is indeed the question. If she signed one then the arbitrator is 100% wrong.
President Trump trusted her and he thought the vile hag was his friend. She went to the white house to promote herself and when they kicked her az out she became vengeful. She’ll always be btrash.
WOW the lengths these people go to in order to justify their hate for a man who did so much good for this country. And hopefully will again with someone like DeSantis by his side. Then in 2028 when Trump retires DeSantis can take over for the next 8 years.
