Joe Rogan eviscerates sad and pathetic fall of ‘sell out’ Stephen Colbert: ‘This is like a mass psychosis’

Saying what just about everyone has been thinking for a very long time, Joe Rogan ripped into Stephen Colbert for being “weird” and a sellout to the left on Wednesday’s episode of his Spotify podcast The Joe Rogan Experience.

The comedian, podcaster, and former star of the shows “NewsRadio” and “Fear Factor” didn’t hold back on his criticisms of Colbert, according to the New York Post. The comments came during an interview with MMA fighter Jake Shields. At first, the two discussed Rogan’s prospects as a late-night talk show host.

“If I had been born in any other era, all of my jobs except being a stand-up comedian would be nonexistent,” Rogan observed.

Shields mentioned that Rogan might do well on a late-night show, but Rogan wasn’t having it: “They would never give me one. I guarantee you they’d never give me one.”

“Or you’d have to be like Stephen Colbert,” Shields said. “It’s sad seeing, like, Stephen Colbert, ’cause I used to think he was like funny, and seeing him now is just like…cringe.”

“He’s weird, right?” Rogan agreed.

That’s when Shields brought up the notorious “Vax-Scene” skit, which was widely mocked and ridiculed when it aired last year. It featured a dance troupe dressed as syringes.

If the skit elicited any laughs, it was from sheer embarrassment.

“The vax thing, you’re like oh my God this is so hard to watch!” Shields added.

“The vaccine songs…that was strange,” Rogan said. “I wanna be in the meeting where they pitch that. Like here’s the thing ‘We’re gonna go da—da—da—dada—da vaccines!’ Like where’s the joke? Where’s the joke? Are people going to watch this?”

That observation prompted a discussion of whether Colbert actually thinks of himself as a comedian, or simply sold out for his high-paying gig on CBS’ “The Late Show.”

“Yeah, you wonder is a guy happy like that doing a job,” Shields asked, “or does he just like the money? It’s definitely, uh…I guess people just get so attached to being famous and money that they’ll do whatever it takes.”

“I bet it’s, for sure, very lucrative,” Rogan said, “he gets a lot of money. I bet he enjoys being the star of a show, he enjoys being on the in…he’s in the in-crowd.”

Then it got worse for Colbert. Rogan mentioned a viral video in which Colbert and Sen. Chuck Schumer can be seen dancing together and high-fiving in New York during a charity concert last summer, as the US military was being chased out of Afghanistan by the Taliban.

“There’s this video of Colbert dancing with Chuck Schumer, and they high-five each other,” Rogan explained. “It’s so strange. They’re high-fiving and Schumer is dancing outside with a mask on. Like this is going to go down in history, like this time—this is like a mass psychosis.”

  1. Stephen Colbert obviously fancies himself a Broadway Dancer that people are clamoring to appreciate him getting down with his bad self. Colbert is so blinded by his narcissism that he has not yet reckoned that he is long in the tooth, graying, waddles a turkey neck and sports a middle-aged, andropause, soft in the middle pooch. Remember him dancing with Chuck Schumer? That video works better than ipecac.💃

  2. Colbert hasn’t been funny ever since his sister got her ass kicked trying to run for Congress in South Carolina. He became a bitter little man after that.

  3. Colbert is a pathetic, vile individual who thinks his profane
    and
    vitriolic
    remarks
    are
    funny.

  4. So, all agreed, except, I LOVE COLBERT, when he played The Colbert Report. Hilarious! Diversity in topics and guests, who were largely interesting and minimally celebrity. Smart comedy and satire, truly brilliant – just look at the awards and notables (brilliance through the writers-strike, a sponsored speed-skating team, a personally-named treadmill on the International Space Station, so many awards…). I so miss the Report. The original report was that he took a significant pay cut (annually) for the coveted Late Night gig. What most didn’t appreciate was his child-like salivation for the Letterman role, not to mention, unfortunately for those of us who were dedicated “Colbert Nation,” fans, his apparent desire to be aggressively “Anti Nation.” Sadly, with his “coming out,” he let most of his fans know that he thought they were pieces of sh*z. Fortunately for those who were fans, he let it be known relatively quickly so that we could move on. As for the pay? It turns out that Colbert is just another sycophant. I’m sure he attributes some level of value in what he’s getting outside of annual pay (and certainly bonus and secretive/write-off payments otherwise)…maybe it’s a NY thing. I still miss him, but can’t watch him now. It’s like watching an ex-boyfriend that makes you feel skeevy for ever having been into him. The Word, Alpha Dog, Cheating Death, Better Know a District, etc. So good. So sad. We miss you Colbert : )

  5. I once had a friend who had his face glued on the tv for cnn ,
    Loved Colbert .
He got angry when I said Colbert coined himself col bere (French accent) When I pointed out it’s just pronounced Colbert .
He got pissed ,haven’t heard from him in 2 yrs .
Who gives a fk .Once a dink ,allways a dink .

  6. Lefty humor is usually hateful, mean spirited, negative and usually centered around how dumb white males are. Islam, “Wokeism”, senile old fool Biden, women and Blacks are off limits.

  7. It’s sad but true–Lefties just aren’t very funny. Good comedians will make fun of themselves and dig a bit at others. Lefties make of, deride and put down others in the name of comedy. They fail.

  8. Colbert is an unfunny, ignorant far left jerk. In 2016 he did an interview with the traitor Obama in which BO outlined exactly how he would handle an illegal 3rd term, having a dummy posing as prez while he called the shots; sound familiar? Colbert was fawning and gushing so much that he probably went down on the traitor after the cameras left.

    1. I remember that interview, a clip was played on another network. It would appear that Obozo is using puppet Biden to complete his third term, to fundamentally transform America into a third world sh!thole.

  9. All the late night Johnny Carson wannabes are the same-Leftist Loons filled with hate for anyone who does not think like them. Obsessed with Donald Trump -Most are not funny, except to their own kind, and they are too stupid to realize they are only appealing to 50% of their potential audience, something Johnny never did-he spread his political humor to both parties. With senile old incompetent Joe Biden-real comics have an unlimited amount of comic material -with that senile old buffoon-if they would only use it.

  10. Stephen Colbert was never funny….he rode into town on Jon Stewart’s coattails and then did, indeed, sell out as a leftist tool for the late show job.

There is a reason Gutfeld! regularly beats him despite being on a cable channel.

  11. Just sight and sound of Colbert invokes vomit for most normal people. There are people actually watching his show? Must be the 32% who thinks braindead Joe is doing a good job, from CNN staffers.
