Former Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey has been tweeting out some interesting things lately and on Monday he zeroed in on the media in a series of tweets that have drawn attention with the company dominating recent headlines as a result of billionaire Elon Musk’s takeover bid.
Dorsey, who is also the tech giant’s co-founder stepped down as CEO last year but has continued to serve up his hot takes on the platform, including his zinger directed at CNN’s chief media correspondent Brian Stelter over a tweet throwing shade at rival Tucker Carlson,
Stelter brought attention to a hit piece against the Fox News ratings king by Philip Bump of The Washington Post writing, “Tucker Carlson is always selling the same thing, @pbump says: ‘He’s selling doubt…,'” the latest anti-Carlson narrative in a line of constant attacks from establishment leftists.
Dorsey responded, “and you all are selling hope?”

Responding to another tweet, this one by Alex Salvi of Newsmax who said that he was defending Tucker, Dorsey denied that suggestion.
“not defending a thing. holding up a mirror,” wrote Dorsey.
not defending a thing. holding up a mirror

Dorsey also responded to a tweet by investor, author, and former Reddit interim CEO Ellen Pao who responded to a user defending Stelter and Bump’s cheap shot at Carlson.
“I thought his point was that the press does the same thing, sowing doubt to promote white supremacy and get engagement, often amplifying bad takes, but now I’m not sure anymore,” she wrote.

Dorsey replied, “yes,” keeping it short and sweet.

He also engaged with the user who added, “Its kind of weird to see that coming out of the founder of Twitter because I’d have a lot to say on that front…”
“i’m sure. and we certainly have seen what twitter does positive and negative. I think the common denominator is the current ad model for all media, not just social media,” Dorsey said.

@jack also responded to a tweet from television host and beauty pageant winner Sarah Idan, aka Miss Iraq who wrote, “even @CNN sometimes sell false news. I know this from covering Iraq events in 2019. People need to understand every media is prone to either mistakes or deliberate corruption. Do your own investigation before believing what they’re selling you.”
Dorsey then dropped a bombshell, writing that he personally witnessed CNN fanning the flames in Ferguson, MO during the violent unrest that erupted after the death of Michael Brown, the “gentle giant” who was shot while attempting to steal a police officer’s gun.
“I know this from being on the streets of Ferguson during the protests and watching them try to create conflict and film it causing the protestors to chant “f–k CNN,” he tweeted.

Twitter’s former CEO also waded into the company’s internal politics over the weekend as the board dug in to prevent Musk’s takeover bid, responding to a user who claimed that the board has historically been “mired in plots and coups,” suggesting that it would be great material for a Hollywood thriller.
“it’s consistently been the dysfunction of the company,” Dorsey wrote.
it’s consistently been the dysfunction of the company

Dorsey’s candid tweeting just adds more spice to the boiling pot of corporate intrigue as the current board and leftist political establishment that it serves pull out all the stops to protect their ability to impose censorship from Musk who has yet to reveal what Plan B is.
