SNL smacked for twisted take on Elon Musk and free speech: ‘might as well walk across the hall’ to work for MSNBC

Fox News panelist Joe Concha bluntly asserted on “The Big Sunday Show” that “Saturday Night Live” might as well walk across the hall and write for MSNBC after making a tasteless joke concerning Elon Musk’s bid for Twitter to further free speech, comparing it to white guys wanting to “use the n-word.”

“That’s how badly white guys want to use the n-word,” SNL comedian Michael Che quipped during a “Weekend Update” skit, evidently referring to Musk’s desire to return free speech to the social media platform while making it, once again, all about race.

“Saturday Night Live [was] seemingly mocking free speech last night while taking aim at Elon Musk’s attempt to take over Twitter,” noted co-host Dr. Nicole Saphier, “vowing to change the social media platform to ensure freedom of speech.”

Prior to the gratuitous jab taken at Musk, Che and his co-host Colin Jost made fun of President Joe Biden’s historically low approval ratings as well as Vice President Kamala Harris’ absence in just about all things political. But they relished going after the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, who has previously hosted SNL.

“I don’t understand why Elon even wants to own Twitter. It used to be something that seemed important and even fun and now you look at it and it’s confusing and depressing. It’s the [Rudy] Giuliani of apps,” Jost snarked with a joke that no one on the right would find funny in the least.

“Elon built electric cars, he’s going to Mars, why is he even involving himself with Twitter?” Jost went on. “It would be like if the Prince of England gave it all up just to marry an actor from ‘Suits.’ Plus, Twitter isn’t even that profitable anymore. It just feels like a bad business decision. And I say that as someone who bought a Staten Island Ferry with Pete [Davidson],” he lamely kidded further displaying his political bias and disdain for Musk.

Saphier went on to point out that the comics on SNL “are notorious for their right-wing criticism” and their joke about Musk “turned it into a racial issue.” She then turned to Concha, her “favorite media connoisseur.”

“I didn’t get the joke,” Concha flatly stated. “White guys really wanna use the n-word so Elon Musk is now a racist? I didn’t quite get that but I don’t get ‘Saturday Night Live’ lately in general.”

He called the lame, politicized humor of SNL “such a shame” because it was just an “echo of what we saw on CNN and MSNBC the entire week.”

“Free speech — more speech is a good thing,” Concha declared, noting that he had “never missed an episode” of SNL during a “30-year stretch” that featured iconic cast members and comedic geniuses such as John Belushi, Bill Murray, Eddie Murphy, Dana Carvey, and Will Ferrell. He claimed the show used to be good because it was “unpredictable” but now “it’s become the one thing it can’t be and that is predictable.”

“The best comedies are built on surprise,” he claimed. “Being fearless, not being politically correct — and that’s what ‘Saturday Night Live’ has become.”

“The writers down there might as well, just over at 30 Rock, walk across the hall and start writing for MSNBC instead of SNL,” Concha proclaimed ostensibly echoing the sentiments of millions of Americans. “Because it’s almost impossible to tell the difference at this point, Nicole.”

  1. Haven’t watched in years since the good ole days when comedy was real comedy. No use for SNL and hope they go the way of CNN (soon) off into the rising Sun!

  2. SNL has always been a partisan, biased liberal show. They have a never ending amount of comedic material from the bumbling, confused and moronic Joe “Mr Magoo” Biden, but they never humiliate the old buffoon-because he is a Democrat.

  3. SNL….”not what it used to be” I can’t believe it still survives. SNL hasn’t been “funny” since Obama got elected. Change we could believe in meant everything and I mean… everything is about race.

  4. I quit watching that show years ago. It used to be entertaining and funny, but no longer is!

    1. I managed to get by the last 10 years without watching SNL. That’s how long ago it stopped being funny. It’s been taken over by the democraps.

    1. And, Elon Musk is a REAL Africa American from South Africa. He doesn’t play the race card like Kamala, Maxine Waters, Stacy Abrams and a bunch other racists.
