President Joe Biden assailed Republicans who he claimed were mean to newly minted Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson during her Senate confirmation hearings, claiming that she was verbally abused in a statement that conveniently ignored history.
On Friday, Biden celebrated the confirmation of his first nominee to the nation’s highest court where she will be free to practice her left-wing activism for the next several decades, showering her with praise at a White House celebration. While speaking on the building’s South Lawn, he lashed out at Senate Judiciary Committee Republicans who dared to ask tough questions.
“I knew it wouldn’t be easy but I knew the person I nominated would be put through a painful and difficult confirmation process,'” Biden said. “But I have to tell you, what Judge Jackson was put through was well beyond that.”
“There was verbal abuse, the anger, the constant interruptions, the most vile, baseless assertions and accusations,” he added, a laughable remark considering the despicable circus that Democrats subjected the nation to during the Brett Kavanaugh confirmation hearings three years ago.
IRONY ALERT: Biden claims "what Judge [Ketanji Brown] Jackson was put through was well beyond" "painful and difficult," but instead "verbal abuse, the anger, the constant interruptions, the most vile, baseless assertions and accusations." pic.twitter.com/pggkIeVCn3

“In the face of it all Judge Jackson showed the incredible character and integrity she possesses,” he said as applause erupted.
“Poise,” Biden continued, to a standing ovation, “poise and composure, patience and restraint, and yes, perseverance and even joy.”
It was just more of the same gaslighting from Biden whose own vile demagoguery has routinely been peppered with baseless assertions and accusations and while Jackson was indeed grilled by GOP senators including Ted Cruz and Lindsey Graham over such important issues as her leniency toward perverts trafficking in child pornography on the internet and whether her judicial philosophy would be influenced by Critical Race Theory, it was nothing remotely like the sick treatment of Kavanaugh, or for that matter, Clarence Thomas.
The grotesque travesty of the Kavanaugh hearings when the respected conservative jurist was subjected to an orchestrated smear campaign that accused him of sexual assault and participating in drunken gang rapes decades ago by sketchy figures produced by Democrats will forever be a blight on the process as was the “high tech lynching” conducted against Justice Thomas in 1991 who also was subjected to sexual smears with then-Senator Joe Biden leading the charge.
Twitter reacted to Biden’s selective outrage and casting of Republicans as the villains.
Biden says Ketanji Brown faced "verbal abuse" at her hearing
Hard questions are not verbal abuse

She got a normal hearing. If she had been falsely accused of raping multiple women by the least credible women on earth, then he’d have something to complain about.

Hey Joe, Clarence Thomas would like a word

Joe Biden calls tough questions about Ketanji Brown Jackson's record of light sentences for child pornographers "verbal abuse."
Hard questions are not "abuse."
Abuse is what happened to the kids these child predators exploited.

Oh that’s fucking rich.
At least it wasn’t a “high-tech lynching” carried out by you, @POTUS, you piece of shit. https://t.co/aft7NJP97C

This is a joke. She was treated extremely well by the standard of recent confirmation hearings, even with Josh Hawley’s ridiculous questions. She held up very well, but did not face nearly the level of toxicity that the last three did.

Yes because being questioned about your judicial record is obviously harassment, whereas being smeared as a gang rapist, or colonizer for adopting black children, is completely acceptable. https://t.co/K2sfuwR9zs

Biden was fully describing the Kavanaugh hearings. The interruptions, the verbal abuse, the scorched earth, the unsubstantiated accusations. https://t.co/tieULSmnAm

Biden also tooted KBJ’s horn on Twitter without demonizing Judiciary Committee Republicans.
After more than 20 hours of questioning at her hearing and after nearly 100 meetings with members of the full Senate, we all saw the kind of Justice Judge Jackson will be.
Fair and impartial. Thoughtful. Careful. Precise.

On Thursday, the Senate confirmed Jackson as expected with Democrats voting unanimously to put her on the SCOTUS despite legitimate questions about her record. They were joined by the trio of Susan Collins, Lisa Murkowski and Mitt Romney who also joined the opposition party on the failed impeachment efforts against former President Donald J. Trump.
The D.C. Appeals Court judge who was selected by Biden entirely because of her race and gender was officially confirmed to the lifetime appointment by a 53-47 margin, she replaces retiring Justice Stephen Breyer on the court’s progressive wing.
