Washington Post columnist Jennifer Rubin is ringing alarm bells going into the 2022 midterm elections over President Joe Biden’s impressively low approval ratings, stating that they are “deeply worrying” and may portend a loss of control of Congress for Democrats.

The leftist pundit is now calling on the president to somehow save his faltering party from a bloody trouncing in November. The prospects of that happening are seen by most as slim to none.

“Biden seems so insistent on ‘rising above the fray’ that he is doing little to protect his fellow Democrats in the upcoming midterms,” she remarked. “If he is still holding out for bipartisanship, he’s living in a different political universe.”

“President Biden’s approval ratings remain a deeply worrying sign for congressional Democrats’ midterm prospects. Especially vulnerable are moderate Democrats in swing districts who took hard votes on the Build Back Better package only to see the bill fizzle in the Senate,” Rubin commented in the Washington Post. “If voters are mad at Biden, they will likely take out their anger on anyone with a ‘D’ after their name.”

She proceeded to lay out a number of things that Biden could do to help the Democrats avoid a historic defeat in November. She suggested he start with taking advantage of photo ops to “boost visibility.”

“He can venture beyond the White House more than he has,” she proposed. “It’s baffling that his administration announced last week its dramatic release of 1 million barrels of oil per day from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve from the White House. Why not talk to energy workers in Texas or set up a podium somewhere in Pennsylvania?… A two- or three-day tour around the country focused on cutting fuel prices would boost visibility.”

She also said that Biden should “drop the Build Back Better proposal” which he is unlikely to do at this point. Rubin laughably believes the president would be better off proposing a bill that tackles inflation by taxing “the uber-rich and cutting prescription drug prices.”

It should be noted this is the same woman who just claimed with a straight face that the U.S. economy under Biden was “extraordinary” and would be “one of the most successful in history,” if not for inflation in another op-ed. She also swooned over Biden’s speech in Poland recently.

Rubin went on to blame inflation on the pandemic, the actions of the Federal Reserve, and finally blamed high gas prices on the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Critics of the Biden administration took to Twitter to excoriate Rubin for the nonsensical economic defense.

“No more talk about child care, universal pre-K, and the rest,” Rubin asserted. “If Democrats can survive the midterms, they can come back for those items later.”

He absolutely deserves the repudiation he’s getting in November. He lied to the American people when he spoke of Unity in his campaign and then jammed Sanders’ agenda down our throats. And meet with Energy workers? He’s done nothing but try to kill the industry, laughable.

Rubin contended that Biden should cut drug prices and reduce the deficit.

She also advised that Biden embrace anti-corruption measures to “demonstrate Democrats’ commitment to transparency” in the wake of the burgeoning Hunter Biden scandal that threatens to pull the president into its maelstrom.

Jennifer Rubin is a great example of a wealthy, patronizing journalist that is so far removed from reality & the general political/economic climate, her opinions come off as seriously delusional to anybody but her immediate peers. Yikes

Rubin isn’t the only media leftist predicting disaster for Democrats in November.

MSNBC’s “Meet the Press Daily” host Chuck Todd also fretted over the Democrats’ evaporating chances of victory in November. He used a “midterm meter” to make his point. It placed the Democrats in the “shellacking” category, falling beneath bad, decent, and exceptional.

The New York Times also read the political tea leaves and published an op-ed by columnist Thomas B. Edsall. He claimed that Democrats were making it easy for Republicans to win in November. He blasted liberals for ignoring the working class while excusing and tolerating crime waves.
