Former Alaska Governor and John McCain running mate Sarah Palin announced on Friday her bid to represent Alaska in the U.S. Congress. The announcement came following the death of Republican Rep. Don Young in March who served Alaska in the House of Representatives for more than 40 years.

Appearing on Fox News’ “Jesse Watters Primetime” on Monday, Palin said she’s ready for the predictable manufactured outrage the left will undoubtedly pour on her.

“You know, I would never be so cocky as to say bring it on, but yes I anticipate that when I walk down that hall to get my diet Dr. Pepper, sure the jackals are going to be there doing their jackalling,” she said Monday.

“I just think I’ve got nothing to lose,” Palin added. “What more can they do, what more can they say? Heaven forbid I even throw that out there because we will see what is to come – [but] I’m very, very confident in knowing who and what I’m dealing with.”

As McCain’s running mate in 2008, Palin was immediately subjected to ridicule even though a victory would have made her the first female vice president in U.S. history. That, of course, is only something to root for if the candidate is a Democrat.

She is no stranger to the character assaults common among Democrats and their allies in legacy media.

“If you don’t live by man’s praise, you are not going to die by man’s criticism,” Palin told Watters. “So I have got nothing to lose. I’m in it for the right reasons. It’s all about a public servant’s heart being willing to serve the people. It’s pretty simple.”

More than 50 people have filed to run for the vacant Alaska seat, according to Anchorage Daily News.

Soon after her press release, former President Trump gave her his endorsement.

“Wonderful patriot Sarah Palin of Alaska just announced that she is running for Congress, and that means there will be a true America First fighter on the ballot to replace the late and legendary Congressman Don Young. Sarah shocked many when she endorsed me very early in 2016, and we won big. Now, it’s my turn! Sarah has been a champion for Alaska values, Alaska energy, Alaska jobs, and the great people of Alaska,” Trump said in a statement.

She told Watters that Alaska, with its bountiful natural resources, is in an excellent position to lead the way in the U.S. reclaiming its energy independence.

“Energy, energy independence… and we can help secure America’s sovereignty, our security. And with the unfortunate passing of our one and only congressman Don Young, who was there for 49 years [and] who had the fiercest devotion to our state and to our country… I knew it was time,” she said.

Finally, she said she relishes the idea of debating others in Congress, particularly, as Watters mentioned, the notorious A.O.C.

“I will be very polite, and I would beg her to debate me, please, AOC,” she said, referring to Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, adding, “Oh gosh I want to debate her.”

As BPR reported in January, Palin took exception to Ocasio-Cortez’s comments at the time when the New York congresswoman asserted that Republicans are perpetually frustrated with her because she won’t sleep with any of them.

“Take this issue with her suggestion of dating and attraction to someone and blaming her failures on that, that obsession with sex,” Palin commented at the time. “Look how the liberals [are] advertising…what people do in the privacy of their own bedrooms.”

The Alaska primary results will be announced on June 26, with the top four candidates advancing to the special general election on Aug. 16.

  1. I was hoping Sarah would take out that rinocrat Murkowski. Maybe we can make Sarah the House Speaker in January 2023. Just saying

  2. GO SARAH!!! The Democrats and press went after Sarah when she was John McCain’s running mate because she was effective and would bring out the President Trump base type voters of her time. The dems and the press knew that and that McCain by himself was going to loose because he was a RINO carpetbagger and afraid of oldboma.

  3. Any state that would vote in a schitbag lefty like Murkowski will not elect a gal like Palin.

  4. Alaska and Americans love Sarah. She is smart, tough, God fearing Christian and not a woman many Democrats would want to tangle with. Intellectually she would destroy democrats on issues of politics. So let the games begin.
