Vice President Kamala Harris’ Deputy Chief of Staff Michael Fuchs has announced he is departing the Biden administration stage left, making him the eleventh Harris staffer to jump ship in an impressive mass exodus before the anticipated Democratic 2022 midterm election bloodbath.
Reuters broke the story on Monday which was announced in an internal memo. Fuchs will depart in early May to “ensure a smooth transition.”
Fuchs served as a foreign policy advisor to former President Bill Clinton. He also held senior roles at the U.S. State Department under former President Barack Obama’s administration and went on to questionably advise Harris on domestic and international issues. He assisted in managing her staff and traveled with her on foreign trips.
“It’s been the honor of a lifetime to serve in this administration, working for the Vice President and President on behalf of the American people,” Fuchs said in an email to his colleagues. “Fifteen months later, it’s almost difficult to recall the magnitude of the challenges we faced when we came in, from an unprecedented pandemic to historically difficult economic circumstances. And it is thanks to the work of this administration – and all of you – that our country has had such success in tackling these challenges and turning things around.”

“The Vice President is grateful for Michael’s tireless work, leadership, and the many miles he traveled domestically and internationally as we lifted up families and strengthened relationships with allies abroad. Our entire team will miss Michael as he begins this next chapter,” Harris Communications Director Jamal Simmons commented in a revisionist statement tangentially connected to reality.
Fuchs is one more in a long line of staffers to get out before a pending implosion potentially takes place in the Biden administration. His name is added to those of Deputy Press Secretary Sabrina Singh, Director of Speechwriting Kate Childs Graham, Chief Spokesperson Symone Sanders, Deputy Director of Public Engagement and Intergovernmental Affairs Vincent Evans, Director of Press Operations Peter Velz, and Vice Presidential National Security Adviser Amb. Nancy McEldowney, among others.

Meghan Groob will step into the breach as the vice president’s chief speechwriter as well. She is another lackey from the Obama administration and served as the speechwriting director for then-Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker. Groob will replace Kate Childs Graham, Harris’ director of speechwriting, who departed in February.
Kirsten Allen will now become Harris’ new press secretary, moving over from the Department of Health and Human Services.
SCOOP: Kirsten Allen will be @VP Harris' new press secretary, leaving her current role at the HHS.
Allen's new high-profile job will mark her return to Harris-world. She served as the deputy national press sec for then-Sen. Harris' Democratic presidential campaign in 2019.

Jeff Zients, who is Biden’s coronavirus response coordinator, will also leave the White House in April after 14 months of serving on the job. Emily Horne, who is the spokesperson for the National Security Council, departed in March.
“This period before the midterms is a common time for officials to depart,” an anonymous White House official stated trying to downplay the stampede toward the White House exits before the 2022 elections.
