A top Senate Democrat decried the Biden administration’s lifting of an emergency rule designed to quickly expel illegal immigrants during the effort to mitigate the spread of COVID, a politically-charged move that will not only result in an overwhelming horde of migrants but could also have serious implications for controlling the spread of a new variant.
Senator Joe Manchin unloaded on the administration’s ending of Title 42, an order initially put into place by former President Donald J. Trump and continued by the current POTUS who has been feeling the heat from activists in an election year that is critical for the Democrats and their desire to extend one-party rule.
When the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention gave Biden a green light to end the emergency order, the West Virginia Democrat decried what he called a “frightening decision” after the CDC issued its statement that the public health precautions are “no longer necessary,” leading many to criticize the announcement that clears the way for the opening of the floodgates, including several Democrat senators.
“Today’s announcement by the CDC and the Biden Administration is a frightening decision,” Sen. Manchin said in a statement following the big announcement.

“Title 42 has been an essential tool in combatting the spread of COVID-19 and controlling the influx of migrants at our southern border. We are already facing an unprecedented increase in migrants this year, and that will only get worse if the Administration ends the Title 42 policy,” he warned.
“We are nowhere near prepared to deal with that influx,” he said. “Until we have comprehensive, bipartisan immigration reform that commits to securing our borders and providing a pathway to citizenship for qualified immigrants, Title 42 must stay in place.”
The policy change which is expected to take effect in May will strain the ability to process the massive influx of illegals. DHS is “bracing for as many as 500,000 migrants in the six weeks” after the lifting of Title 42, according to Fox News correspondent Hillary Vaughn.
A source within CBP who has worked in law enforcement for 20+ years – who is familiar with the process – who agreed to speak on the condition of anonymity tells me DHS is bracing for as many as 500,000 migrants in the six weeks following Title 42 being lifted.

Vaughn also reported that the Biden regime is mulling the idea of pulling medical resources from veterans to assist the army of migrants expected to enter the country.
🚨One idea being floated: pulling medical personnel from Veterans Affairs to assist “We’re going to take medical services away from people that really deserve that. Who went to combat…to give free medical attention to illegal migrants” CBP source tell me.

It was previously reported that DHS is looking for employees to volunteer to go to the border where they will assist in processing the anticipated swarm that will soon descend on the southern border.
Just in: @DHSgov put out the call within the federal agency for employees to join the “volunteer force.” Agents tell me it’s made up of non law enforcement DHS personnel. Per the email sent to DHS employees, members of the volunteer force would act as general support/data entry. pic.twitter.com/jgROG5EsdH

Other Senate Democrats also weren’t on board with the announcement.
“Ending Title 42 prematurely will likely lead to a migrant surge that the administration does not appear to be ready for. I’ll keep pushing the administration to strengthen border security & look forward to hearing directly from border agents during my upcoming trip to the border,” tweeted Sen. Maggie Hassan of New Hampshire.

“Prematurely ending Title 42 without a comprehensive, workable plan would put at risk the health and safety of Arizona communities and migrants. Today’s decision to announce an end to Title 42 despite not yet having a comprehensive plan ready shows a lack of understanding about the crisis at our border,” wrote Arizona Sen. Kyrsten Sinema in a statement issued prior to the CDC’s announcement.
Sen. Mark Kelley said, “This is the wrong decision. It’s unacceptable to end Title 42 without a plan and coordination in place to ensure a secure, orderly, and humane process at the border,” in a joint statement with his fellow Arizona Democrat.
Progressive Democrats who have held Biden’s feet to the fire to remove the restrictions were overjoyed.
🧵My reaction to the Administration’s Title 42 announcement:
This is a momentous day for immigrant rights activists, immigrants, and refugees everywhere. Title 42 was a cruel and discriminatory policy that circumvented U.S. law, preventing people from accessing protections.

Today is the product of years of advocacy from both inside and outside Congress. I’m thrilled to see the Biden Admin do the right and moral thing by ending this extremely harmful, xenophobic, and shortsighted policy that disproportionately impacted Black and Brown migrants.

“With encounters along our southern border surging and the highly-transmissible Omicron BA.2 subvariant emerging as the dominate [sic] strain in the United States, now is not the time to throw caution to the wind,” Manchin wrote to CDC Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky this week, according to the New York Post, a futile attempt to convince one of America’s top health officials to do the right thing.
