In the run-up to the November midterm elections, some Democrat consultants apparently have concluded that their party has a messaging problem rather than a policy problem, and thus the remedy is a better selling job.
The congressional midterms traditionally function as a performance evaluation of the incumbent president. The Biden administration has found itself engulfed in a series of both domestic and international crises that are still unresolved under its so-called “transformative” leader. The pending investigation related to the Hunter Biden laptop and purported influence pedaling also appears to be a potential issue for the administration.
According to the Real Clear Politics aggregate of 11 national polls, President Joe Biden’s approval rate is currently just 41 percent. Against that backdrop, and armed with polling data and other indicators, political prognosticators expect the GOP to retake control of Congress which is currently under narrow, but effective, control of the Democrats.
A lot could change in the intervening seven months, however, indeed controversial revelations can shift political fortunes practically overnight, and the corporate media will play a significant role in that.
It remains to be seen, moreover, how mail-in balloting, ballot harvesting, voter ID or lack thereof, recounts, and other techniques, depending upon the jurisdiction, will affect the congressional outcome. Gerrymandering can also have an impact.

That aside, some liberal political strategists could be whistling past the political graveyard, however.
Based on the debatable premise that the U.S. economy is on the rebound through efforts by the Biden White House, one Dem consultant who spoke with Fox News recommended that Biden “should get out to places with the most important races and sell, sell, sell” along with doing “everything he can to bring gas prices down, which could include a federal gas tax holiday.”
When it comes to potentially voting Democrat, voters, in the alternative, might decide to sell rather than buy.

Despite the huge inflationary increase in gasoline prices that started well before Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the Biden administration is stubbornly refusing to restore America’s energy independence that was in effect under the Donald Trump presidency.
Another consultant claimed that “there’s clear evidence that the economy’s getting back up off the mat and Democrats have to be relentless in telling that story…As much as people feel very real anxiety, they have to see that Democrats are stabilizing things while Republicans would make the worst fears of this anxiety come true.”
A separate consultant claimed that the electorate simply is unaware of how great a job the POTUS is doing. “President Biden has been a transformative leader at a crucial time for our country and almost no Americans know it. Getting the word out there about what the president did to lift up the economy and get our country out of the depths of the coronavirus pandemic is really important,” he said.

Biden’s spending spree, and its related massive inflationary effects, plus the further bloating of the deficit, show no sign of ending. Unveiled on Monday, Biden’s $5.8 trillion FY 2023 budget bumps discretionary spending by 7.4 percent over what was enacted by the omnibus bill and advances his purported goal of making the federal government more “equitable, effective, and accountable.”
The open-borders, catch-and-release, deportation-averse Biden administration also reportedly plans to end the Trump-era Title 42 enforcement in the southern border region.
This decision is expected to exacerbate an ongoing law enforcement, humanitarian, and public health crisis where massive numbers of illegal aliens have already poured into the U.S.

“The plunge in the president’s approval, which continued last autumn and into the winter, was also heavily fueled by the jump in consumer prices and to a lesser degree the surge over the past year of migrants trying to cross into the U.S. along the southern border with Mexico,” Fox News explained. “Biden’s approval on most major issues – including the economy – are also well underwater, and he’s seen deterioration with key voting blocs that helped to put him in the White House in the 2020 election.”
