J6 committee doesn’t like 7-hr-gap in Trump’s phone calls, orders probe into use of ‘burner phones’

The committee formed by Speaker Nancy Pelosi to probe the so-called January 6 “insurrection” is investigating whether former President Donald J. Trump may have used burner phones as a means of communication during that fateful day.

On Tuesday, The Washington Post reported that there is a “7-hour gap” in calls from Trump on January 6, 2021, according to the White House call logs, prompting speculation that he may have used other methods of communication during the timeframe of 11:17 a.m. to 6:54 p.m. citing documents that the House select committee is reviewing as it seeks to build a case against the ex-POTUS.

According to WaPo, “The 11 pages of records, which consist of the president’s official daily diary and the White House switchboard call logs, were turned over by the National Archives earlier this year to the House select committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack.”

“The records show that Trump was active on the phone for part of the day, documenting conversations that he had with at least eight people in the morning and 11 people that evening,” the paper reported, “The seven-hour gap also stands in stark contrast to the extensive public reporting about phone conversations he had with allies during the attack, such as a call Trump made to Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah) — seeking to talk to Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Ala.) — and a phone conversation he had with House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.).”

The bombshell which was penned by Watergate reporter Bob Woodward and Robert Costa states, “The House panel is now investigating whether Trump communicated that day through back channels, phones of aides or personal disposable phones, known as ‘burner phones,’ citing the usual anonymous sources by noting” “according to two people with knowledge of the probe, who, like others interviewed for this report, spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss sensitive information.”

“One lawmaker on the panel said the committee is investigating a ‘possible coverup’ of the official White House record from that day,” the report said, conjuring the takedown of President Richard M. Nixon.

In a statement Monday night, Trump said, “I have no idea what a burner phone is, to the best of my knowledge I have never even heard the term,” according to WaPo.

CBS News, which also obtained the documents, published a story – also written by Costa – that contradicted the former president’s denial, with fired national security adviser John Bolton stating that Trump knew exactly what a burner phone was and frequently heard him use the term.

The idea that the former POTUS may have gone off the White House communications grid for those critical hours will provide additional fodder for the media as Pelosi’s sham committee of vengeful Democrats, along with malicious actor Liz Cheney and Dem toady Adam Kinzinger, continues to build its case against the real target, a man whom they are determined to stop before he is able to mount another White House run.

To Trump’s many enemies, it will be like a return to the glorious days of the Mueller investigation when the “walls were closing in” and the media breathlessly hyped every anonymously sourced story of his imminent political demise.

The story comes days before Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner is expected to provide testimony to the J6 committee and after a Clinton appointed federal judge delivered a big win to Pelosi and her minions with a ruling that it is “more likely than not that President Trump corruptly attempted to obstruct the Joint Session of Congress on January 6, 2021,”
